I enjoy the new Walkmen album too. I think it's as good as their previous two releases, so if you liked those albums, you'd probably like it.

I also liked their first, and nothing after that. This one has some fresh sounds on it, but wish their were some guest vocals on it. The female vocal(forget her name) isn't that strong(doesn't have to be for this style, but.....) and wish their was another voice....only through one listening though.

I'm confused by this. Ten of the twelve tracks have guest vocals from either Jose Gonzalez or Sia Furler, who guested on the last album too. And after listening to the album tonight for the second time since I got it a few weeks ago, I really really really like it. Probably top three this year, maybe even number 2.

I don't know Sia Fuller, but all of the tracks Jose Gonzalez sings on are remixes of songs he wrote, and they're not as good as the originals.

No, only one of the songs is a remix of one of his tunes - "Crosses."

Bob,
You're probably way ahead of me on most purchases, and I know you gotten Rubies and Snow Angel
but if you can listen just for pleasantness of sound and ignore the shameless prom-anthem lyrical ploy, Snow Patrol's Eyes Open has a fantastic arena pop sound.
After that, I'd go for Maritime or Built to Spill if you haven't grabbed them yet...neither great, but both solid with some great individual songs.
