Will do. Now, can we just award The Hold Steady's new album a 97 METASCORE by fiat and call it a year?

Lucero's new album should be on here. I'm pretty sure it has enough reviews to qualify.

Is it unrealistic to think that Erase Errata's Nightlife should be on here? I don't really understand why it isn't.

Solomon Burke's "Nashville" should be on the list. This is a beautiful album.

And I agree with a previous poster that Van Hunt's "On the Jungle Floor" deserves some notice also.

I'm not surprised that their last album wasn't on here, but I was when In Boca Al Lupo never showed up. I've seen probably 15-20 reviews for that album, most of which were from sources MC uses. I'm not sure why it isn't on here.

I've been watching for Malajube - Trompe-L'Oeil to show up. Pitchfork, cokemachineglow others all have reviews. Is it because its in French?

Around here we prefer to call it "Freedom Rock".

How about Flying Canyon's self-titled debut disc? It's been (favorably) reviewed by Pitchfork and some other outlets. I downloaded it with low expectations, but it's been a very pleasent surprise. "Doom folk" is a good way to describe it, I guess. The songs on the album are a bit same-y, but I like the mood it creates enough to overlook that.

Ahaha! Big Grin

That is a great album, but I don't know if it has enough reviews yet to be here.

EDIT: Oh, and Orchestra of Bubbles by Ellen Allien & Apparat should be on here.

Is Tom Waits' newest not going to be considered? It already has 8 reviews and isn't on the "Best of List", even though it has a 91 average. Given there are 30 new songs, it should definitely qualify for the list (even if it is officially a "rarities collection") - heck, DFA and the Beatles got included.

I don't even like Waits, but I'm all about equality. Contratto for Districy Attorney 2016.

I don't think Writer's Block by Peter Bjorn and John is on MC.

The last line of the description makes its exclusion even more peculiar: "It's like getting three new Waits albums at once."

Metacritic is secretly in kahoots with Bob Dylan. They figure they can knock Newsom off with a few more mainstream reviews, and bring him back to third...and then decide that only LIVING artists can have an album count, and that compilations are disqualified. I should have seen it coming...
