I buy 95% of the music I listen to. I got the 20 downloads a month deal with emusic, so I get the rest from there (but I guess even that's technically bought).

I either downloaded for free, copied from a friend, or downloaded off of allofmp3.com at a significantly reduced amount (approx $2 each) everything I obtained in 2006. Everything else I heard was via streams or myspace and such. I didn't buy a single cd this past year. I'm not bragging, or think this is cool. Just stating the facts.

The only problem with itunes is that it comes off my download limit, which is used by our whole family. Even though some things I want to buy: Blonde redhead, Panda Bear, menomena aren't available due to tba release dates.

Its good when I have some mainstream-ish albums on my to do list like beck and interpol because I can probably get them at around AUD $10.

I can't believe people actually BUY songs, albums on mp3 format.

The sound sucks compared to a cd or record on a decent hi-fi. People are not hearing the full sonics, thats sad.

Ish, you're obviously a man of wealth and taste (well, except for Sticky Fingers Big Grin)

My location should give you an idea of where my allegiance lies.

I don't remember what albums I bought last year. It's really sad. I need a job so that I actually can afford to buy albums rather than dl them. I think that once I get a job I'm going to send a check to all of the bands that made my favorite albums that I've dl'ed recently (I would just go to a show and get some merch but very few really good bands come to my area of FLA Frowner

iTunes songs are only 128kB/s, which is definitely noticably worse than CD. I keep wondering when they'll start offering better quality files, as the capacity of iPods keeps skyrocketing...even standard 192 sounds quite a bit better.

A lot of the torrents you can download are high quality 192 or 224 variable bit rate, which is very, very hard to distinguish from a CD, without a really nice stereo and great ears...

V0 and V2 are even larger improvements on lossy sound quality. I've come to understand that V0 and V2 are basically 320kN/s sound quality but smaller files. I always dl in V0, V2, or if I have to 320 kB/s

I always make an effort to buy physical copies of albums that I really enjoy. However, that has been somewhat dampened since the CD player in my car's stereo no longer works. (And ate my Funeral CD, too! Mad ) Most of my music just stays on my iPod, now.

I download, and then buy. I download first just incase I hate the album to pieces. So I downloaded EVERYTHING I liked in 2006 Razzer, but now I own it all (well almost all) on CD.
