I feel your pain. Only my reaction is more to punch myself out in an attempt to stop the pain from the aural thrashing my ears are talking.

I'm not sure I understand that. He's not a skilled rapper, but his songs are great although I think Late Registration was a bit too bombastic towards the end. Is it because he's popular? That would be a silly reason.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he's not skilled -- he does have some good rhymes, most of which I find on The College Dropout -- but I surely don't see him as being (nearly) as great an emcee as Jay-Z or Dizzee Rascal, just to give a few examples.

And no. I don't dislike him because he's popular and yes, that would be silly.

I don't think I get what you don't get. I think his arrogance is over-the-top and I find it extremely off-putting. It's as simple as that.

I misread your first post. I'm sorry. I'm Danish so my English might be a bit bad sometimes.

No problem, Krea. Sorry if I came off a little brash.

So, I actually like Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds, especially the opener/title track.

(It's better than the new Junior Boys.)

There! I said it!

I concur. The only thing that sucks about the JT album (and Cokemachineglow noted this as well) are the handful of tracks that Timbaland didn't produce.

Are they the obligatory slow jams at the end? It ends a little pitifully.

Yeah, that last song was produced by Rick Rubin, who sucks at producing any kind of dance music, unless it's an old school throwback like Jay-Z's "99 Problems".

I also concur. Again, the new Junior Boys album just does not hold a candle to Last Exit IMHO. But the JT album is actually pretty good. "My Love" is one of the best singles of the year, I think.

I despise the Chili's so much, but I don't get into it with people because I haven't given anything since BSSMagic a thorough listen. I hate them so much though. I just don't know where to start the shit talking if I haven't really heard it.

the one '06 record i would not be caught dead listening to is MCRs The Black Parade. Despite having a rhythm section with musical talent. Mr. Way has seemed to singlehandedly find a way to bring that down with cliched subject matter and lyrics and an incredibly annoying almost Billy Corgan-esque voice.

I thought 2006 was a mostly dull year. Normally I can find well over 20 new albums I really love, this year I don't think I managed 5. Other than TV on the Radio, The Knife, Mystery Jets and Soweto Kinch I don't think anyone's made an album I'll be talking about in 10 years time.

Hope 2007 does better.
