Good album, but if it ends up being one of the best of the year, it is going to be an even worse year than last.
T.I. album so far is the best. I don't really like this new southern rap, but he is the real deal. Shout out to Face. Top 5 all time.
What is up with the anti-Kanye movement the last few months. College Dropout is probably my #2 favorite album of all-time. Maybe my #1 when I am in a more contemporary mood. It had nothing but great songs and skits that actually didn't mess up the flow of the album. Unlike both Ghostface and T.I. Also, there was a common theme throughtout the entire album that was fresh and I really dug it. Late Registration was more like a collection of great songs. Maybe album of the year material, but would be fighting to get into the top 50 albums all time. Kanye has some new shit dropping on mixtapes all of you should check out. Namely, Grammy Family with West, John Legend, and Consequence. Amazing track, get it on DJ Khaled mixtape.
Now just to prove I'm not some suburb whitey, I'll tell you why Ghostface won't be even a consideration for a top 5 album at the end of the year: Kayne in November, Buddens in October, Budden's MoodMuzik 3 (amazing mixtape series) sometime real soon, Game in July, Pharrell in July, Lupe Fiasco in June, Papoose this fall, Busta real soon, Banks this summer, Dre produced Obie Trice this year, Outcast Idlewild this year, Dre produced Snoop Dogg this fall, Yung Joc real soon, Rick Ross this summer
Damn that was just off the top of my head, slow start, but this year may be just as big as 2004 for hip-hop. I take that back. Also, big rumors about new Jay-Z album entitled either "Living Legend" or "Life after Death". Features some of the stuff he did all over the place after the Black album, nothing new. Watch out for Lupe Fiasco, he is going to be a bonafide star.

Kanye is fine and dandy, but I end up finding myself listening to Ghostface, Edan, and, these days, Sway a LOT more.

I like it, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't match up to the best of rap out of '05 beit Cool Calm Pete, Young Jeezy (don't kill me Yay!), or Blueprint. He's a great story teller, as he's proven with previous tracks like "Run", but on this album the only track that blew my socks off was "Underwater". It's very solid, and will definitely be on my end of year list, but I'll wait for the second Madvillain and the Ghostface/MF DOOM collab album before I get out the champagne. It's a shame that Lif's album wasn't as hot as I had hoped as well. It, like Ghostface, has some pretty great singles though.
