the panda ep is leaked already. the a side is kind of pretty but the b side is entirely outstanding

edit: oh wait, are you talking about ariel pink's house arrest ? i didn't realize that was getting rereleased, but yeah i've got that too. i heard somewhere that he was releasing a record with his first newly written material in like six years, but now i can't find where i saw it

Where can I find the new Panda Bear?

a couple people have it on soulseek (user double sharks), or you can buy the cd here for $5.75

i haven't found the vinyl yet, i'm hesitant to buy the cd because i think his eps are all being collected onto one cd later in the year

I found it. Its more of an EP, but Wow! Two amazing songs, he is really going in a great direction. Can't wait for the full-length.

he grew up 10 minutes away from me and he's a friend of a friend, so I've had all the songs since summer. good stuff.

yeah, i've really liked all his new stuff i've heard. more like the jane lps than young prayer, sort of going back to his self-titled record's electronic stuff but a lot more interesting

recommend finding the track "search for delicious" if you haven't heard it, it was on a magazine compilation sometime this past year. it's real nice. and if you've heard the most recent animal collective bbc session with all the new songs, "bonfire" was a new panda song too, really sample-based and dubbish

Sounds like a lot of great stuff coming out in 2006. Which is a relief. December is brutal for hardcore music fans and really January as well before the releases start to pick up.

But at least there is somethign to look forward too.

Some of them are mentioned here but i'm looking for

Outkast
Flaming Lips
(can't remember the spelling but the Benson and Jack White project)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Matisyahu
The Liars
MF Doom (come on you know that he is putting something out)
Gnarls Barkley

and on.

Junior Boys
Scissor Sisters
The Fiery Furnaces.

If the junior boys release anything close to Last Exit then I'll be happy.

Any year that we can expect new albums from Radiohead, Wilco, and the Flaming Lips figures to be great. Certainly those will be my three most anticipated, (although the Lips were on the list for this year). Nervous anticipation at the prospect of a new Pixies record, (sounds more likely to happen all the time...), but being a big Frank Black fan I'm looking forward to the second disc of his "Nashville Period". Also looking forward to the Robert Pollard, Shins, Walkmen, and Arcade Fire records. Should be an excellent year!

I actually like "I Want None of This." It gives me the same feeling as "You And Whose Army?".

You're old kentucky shark?!

(I lurk on LPTJ; I don't think I've ever posted on the forums.)

Yeah. That's cool to know. I really didn't think anyone else posted on both boards.

Do you think death cab for cutie will come up with anything in 2006? Cause I'd most definitely desire any Ben Gibbard offering.
