You may list fewer than 20, but not fewer than 10.
2. Once you submit your final list, you cannot edit it.
3. You must have been a Metacritic forum member for at least two months or have 30 posts to be eligible. Anyone with fewer votes may post a list but will not be counted.
4. The requirements for album eligibility are mostly left up to you. However, you may not list a 2006 reissue that was originally released more than 2 years ago or any album which consists of less than half new material (such as that Belle and Sebastian thing that collected EP and b-side material from years past). Other than that, anything goes.
5. Lists will be accepted through January 15.

Well, you must not have listened closely enough. Honestly, take a moment and put on some headphones and listen to the song Volcanoes. I'll admit that the "demon" voice at the beginning is a bit annoying. Listen to when the fiddles come in after about 1:10 into the song. Smile inducing. Immediately after, listen to the percussion for about 30 seconds. It builds into an amazing mini-climax. The rythm is so amazing throughout this album. I'm telling you, listen closely to Volcanoes and you will be converted.
By the way EG75, I love the Thermals album. It's so strange because his voice is okay, the drums and guitar don't do anything too special, but as a whole, it's a fucking awesome album. The passion is there. The melodies too. I've listened to it all the way through 4 times now, and I love it. Thanks for the reccomendation.

It has really made a huge comeback for me lately. I'm thinking it's going to crack my top 5, or at least come very close. "Jogging Gorgeous Summer" is one of my favorite songs of the year, just gorgeous.

I think the Islands album has some interesting moments, but like the band which spawned them, the Unicorns, they too often veer into cutesy territory for me. As an overall effort, I can't get into it.

I can see how it might be hard for those of you who aren't as cute to appreciate it.

I know it's early, but TV on the Radio sure is coming out swinging in our poll. Return to Cookie Mountain has about a 30 point lead on the next highest score, Liars' Drum's Not Dead.

I predict "Return to Cookie Mountain" will run away with this thing.
As for the Islands, I thought it was a very contagious, excellent debut, but it doesn't even come close to comparing to the Unicorns' "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone". Penner and Diamond both singing lead vocals was/is pop perfection.
