"Neverland" and "Forest Families" by The Knife.

I haven't LOVED a single album this year yet like I did Okkervil River and others last year, but there are a whole bunch of songs on albums that have been slightly disappointing that are amazing.
Silent Shout is not a disappointment, though, but some tracks are much better than others.

It was available for download on the Turn Records website. It's still there. Here's the link for the mp3: http://www.turnrecords.com/audio/TMS_Next_To_You.mp3

"Free Radicals" off the new Flaming Lips album is truly stunning, and the only way I can describe it is an acid-fueled jam session between Prince, Led Zeppelin (that riff!), and Midnite Vultures-era Beck with Queen providing operatic backing vocals. Throw it all around a perfectly syncopated and unimaginably funky bassline, and you have my current musical addiction. Genius.

Anybody hear the new Regina Spektor song, "Summer in the City"? In case you're wondering, no, she's not covering the Lovin' Spoonful song. It does, however, sound like she stole some tape out of a Cat Power recording session. Great song.

I haven't heard that song I'm afraid, but I agree with you that Rise Up With Fists by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins is a fantastic song.

Rise Up With Fists is terrific. My favorite part of the song is when the Watson Twins sing, "And she will wake up with baaaabiiiieeees." That makes it for me. The video is very cute, too.

They are creepy in a cute way. Why do they have their eyes closed the whole time?

Did somebody heard the AFI's first single "miss murder"? This song is as great as the ones on their last album "sing the sorrow". Probably one of my favorite songs of 2006.
