Vinicio Capossela, huh? I might just search out that track out of curiosity.
I'm not a big fan of the Arctic Monkeys, but there is one track from their album that destroys, and that's "From the Ritz to the Rubble." Seriously, I feel like I want to eat that guitar riff, and I'm not even hungry.

My faves so far are: "Station Approach"-Elbow "Leaders of the Free world"-Elbow "Alone,Jealous, and Stoned"-Secret Machines "Heart in a Cage"-Strokes "You only live once"-Strokes
Jenny Lewis - You are what you love Cat Power - The Greatest Both good songs, but much too early to put those in any final lists. Anyone else hear anything from David and the Citizens yet, The End is a great song, really looking forward to that disc.

I've heard the David and the Citizens album that is going to be released in the US (Until the Sadness Is Gone), and I don't think it's nearly as good as For All Happy Endings, which I don't think has a planned US release. It's got some good songs, but overall, it just sounds a lot less stirring and special than For All Happy Endings. It's kind of a shame they're giving the wrong album a US release.

While the whole Arctic Monkey's album is great, I'll go with either "When the Sun Goes Down" or "From the Ritz to the Rubble". It's typically not my style of music but it just hits me right. I expect big things from these guys in the future.

Man, I really, really, really, really like those two Raconteurs songs ("Steady, As She Goes" and "Store Bought Bones"). For me, it's better than The White Stripes or Brendan Benson alone. Those songs are great.
I also really like The Lashes - "Please, Please, Please" Nine Black Alps - "Shot Down"

Even though I'm not sold on the whole album, I'm digging the Liars' "The Other Side of Mt. Heart Attack". The Liars have actually recorded a really gorgeous song, which is something I never thought I'd say about the Liars. It reminds me if some of Sonic Youth's prettier stuff.

During that Destroyers' song "Sick Priest Learns to Last Forever," is anyone else sort of surprised to hear Bejar and not Neil Young when the vocals first start? I think the guitar riff is lifted from "Down By the River."
Sunset Rubdown's "A Day in the Graveyard II" is a pretty killer track. The rest of the EP is a little lacking in terms of production quality, but I'm interested to hear what the rest of their forthcoming LP sounds like.

"The Other Side of Mt. Heart Attack" -Liars "Glasgow Mega-Snake" -Mogwai (ignore the rumors, this is a very good album) "Forest Families" and "Like a Pen" -The Knife "Make Out Fall Out Make Up" and "Talk Talk Talk Talk" -Love is All (I totally heart Sweden) "Steady As She Goes" -The Raconteurs "The Needle Has Landed" -Neko Case "Fake Tales of San Francisco" -Arctic Monkeys
Haven't picked favorites from Destroyer and FLips yet, they're both so album-y.
