Nice. That album's great ain't it? Every single song is good. My favorite one is "Loneliness is Better When You're Not Alone."

Yes, it is really good. No fillers at all. Well, maybe one. I am looking forward to the next record. The "new" single is also very good, although the sound is abit more filled out. I think that it is a stand alone single though. I think I will put this record as best female singer/songwriter of the year so far, whereever that thread was. Edit: Apparently, the record was released in late 2005 in some places. Also the single is from an EP which is just out. I will definitely check that one out.

Yes. This album is sounding pretty good to me as well. I think this might be their best album so far, and all the Springsteen love coming from this album and the Hold Steady are making me very happy about music in 2006.

This album may contain my favorite performances of hers. Last album, my favorite song was "The Last Days of Disco", so I'm also just partial to their slow/slightly sad stuff.

It's not experimental, it's not forward-thinking, it's not edgy. But I'm pretty sure that Beck's "Think I'm In Love" is one of my favorite songs of the year. That piano riff that dances over the top of the chorus is a magical moment, for me. And at about the 1:35 mark, Beck takes the song into a bridge (with the words, "What if it's wrong") that reminds me of the best parts of 70s soft rock. That lasts for, say, 30 seconds, then the song careens back into catchy, retro 80s territory.
Maybe it won't age well for me, and it isn't my favorite song of the year. But as of now, it's up there. The song and album are streaming on AOL Listening Party now.
Full Disclosure: I stupidly put this post in the "Best Records of 2006" thread. My comment should have been posted in this thread, and -- with my apologies -- I've now corrected it.

I'm with less_success, I like both of those tracks too, especially "Stuck Between Stations". If I had to pick a pair of songs I wasn't really into on Boys and Girls, it'd be "Massive Nights" and "Same Kooks".
