Yes yes. I reguarly give Tv on the radio and the knife a spin. Joanna newsom is like neutral milk hotel, I revere it highly but it isn't the digestible kind of album I can put on any time I want.

It is a fantastic album. Might be my number 1 if I remade my list.

You know, I'd thought I'd gotten over "I'm From Barcelona," but my friends picked it up after I was almost done, and now I love it just as much as ever. I have built a treehouse, I have built a treehouse...

Just listened to Ys last night for the first time in quite a while. As much as I like Joanna Newsom, I never seem to listen to it unless I can sit down with the lyric booklet and follow the winding narratives from start to finish. It's just not background music, is it?

Then listened to Joanna Newsom and the Ys Street Band and realized that it's even better. Her voice is more polished, the music is richer, and it was exceptional overall. I hope this bodes well for her next album.

Definitely not background music..you've got to give it your full attention to get anything out of it really. And I often do. Without the lyric booklet though, seeing as I could recite the album from start to finish without thought. Razzer

But yeah, can't wait to see how on earth she will follow it up...

I feel the same way. Talk about a slow grower (for me, anyway). Really been enjoying this the latter half of this year.

You know that I'm From Barcelona album that Pitchfork hyped but which was quickly forgotten and which most people seemed to dismiss? It's pretty good. There are a couple duds, but the high points are pretty darn high. And I love the video for the song "We're From Barcelona." That guy's bored, impassive expression is priceless.

It is very good. Was just outside my top 20 last year. It's got some of the catchiest tunes you'll hear and bucketloads of charm.

I don't know if I should be embarrassed about this or not, but I still listen to The Fray's album.

And Yo La Tengo.

Easily one of the best albums of last year... now I like it even more because it reminds me of good times with my friends.

Liars' Drum's Not Dead. It is such a gorgeous album though it doesn't unfold itself immediately. It has a very deep atmosphere.
