Well, with me being an Action Movie fan, I've
always loved a great action sequence. I
HATED "Bad Boys 2", but I did enjoy watching the freeway chase that involved cars being flipped all over the road! However, I must agree, they ain't as good as they should be. These days they seem to be all about the action & they've forgotten they need to put a movie with it. Good example,
"Ultraviolet", this movie was one (supposed to be) cool effect after another, but the plot was ridiculous. I really was bored watching this thing! I actually set the timer on my DVD player to "remaining time" just to see how much longer the agony was gonna be!
It is also in the opinion of the movie goer. The guy that brung over
"Ultraviolet" thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen & he just HAD to see this on my big HDTV. Just like I loved
"300", but others thought it was crap. Then there is the debate on
"King Kong" (2005), some loved it, others hated it. I've said it before & I'll say it again, the biggest problem is with the studios. They see a formula was successful in one movie & they repeat it in 20. They want sequels & prequels that don't really add anything to the story, all they want is more money & as long as movie goers keep coughing it up, they'll keep shoving this crap down our throats!
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"
