though not nearly as amazing as the scenes in CTHD, I think "Hero" with Jet Li had some pretty good fight scenes. My favorites were the one on the water and the one in the forest where the leaves change

I'm shocked that nobody mentioned Kill Bill Vol. 2's Black Mamba VS California Mountain Snake! This was one fight I was actually looking forward to seeing! That fight was downright dirty, from the used chew from a coffee can being thrown into Daryl Hannah's pretty face to her head being thrown into a toilet to the most fantastic, unexpected climax to ANY fight I have ever seen! No music. Only the sound of these 2 women pounding the crap out of each other!
Another great fight, Jet Li VS an entire police squad of black belts & taking on the 'Twins' to the beat of Mystikal in "Kiss of the Dragon". His fight against another police squad at the beginning of "The One", not to mention with himself toward the end. Even the last scene of him taking on an entire prison was truly beautiful! "I am Yulaw! I am nobody's bitch, you are mine!" Let's also not forget his first appearance in an American movie: Lethal Weapon 4! He whooped on Mel & Danny something fierce!
As for the comic based flicks: Hartigan VS Yellow Bastard, Marv VS the police at the motel & The Farm, & Marv VS Kevin from "Sin City". Every Spider-Man VS Dr. Octopus moment in "Spider-Man 2". The first Blade battles at the beginning of all three Blade movies & the battle inside the vampire nightclub & the end fight in "Blade 2". The first fight between an Alien & a Predator & the Predator VS the Alien Queen in "AVP". Mr. Hyde VS an even bigger version of himself in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". Spawn VS the Violator in "Spawn". Wolverine VS Deathstrike in "X2: X-Men United". V's battle with the England agents in "V for Vendetta". The fight between the 2 Super Women in "My Super Ex-Girlfriend".
Other honorable mentions: How can anyone not mention Mace VS Palpatine, Obi Wan VS Anakin, or Yoda VS Palpatine in Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith? Oh, yeah, every fight in "Kung Fu Hustle". And how could anyone not mention the first hit in the hotel in "The Big Hit"? Maximus VS Commodus in "Gladiator"(2000). Leroy VS Sho-Nuff in "The Last Dragon. Leon VS the ENTIRE police force at the end of "Leon, the Professional". King Kong VS 3 T-Rex's in "King Kong"(2005). The shoot out at the end of "The Way of the Gun". Todd VS an entire platoon of 'better soldiers' & then Todd VS Caine in "Soldier". The T-800 VS the T-X in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines". The gunfight at the O.K. Corral in "Tombstone". 'Ghost' VS the evil boxing ring owner in "Gladiator"(1992). "Make 'em think you're weak when you're strong!" William Munny VS everybody in the bar in "Unforgiven".
As for a few movies that most people can't stand or might be too embarressed to admit that they like: I can't get enough of the Hulk taking on 3 tanks & then a few Apachi helicopters for dessert in "Hulk". Godzilla VS the Apachi helicopters in the '98 remake. Qui Gon & Obi Wan VS Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Over a hundred Jedi fighting droids in the arena & Yoda taking on Dookoo in Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
As for great car chases: The cab chase in "The 5th Element. The freeway chase in "Bad Boys 2"(the ONLY part worth seeing). The entire movie of "The Chase"(1994). Godzilla chasing the taxi in "Godzilla"(1998). The chase involving 'Elenore' in both "Gone in 60 Seconds" movies. The chase involving an 18 wheeler full of Kool's smokes & several police cars at the beginning of "Beverly Hills Cop". The beginning of "Austin Powers in Goldmember". The big chase involving a crane, a fire truck, an ambulance, 2 cop cars, & a vet's animal transport truck in "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines".
Best explosion action sequences: The metal ball bearing explosion in the beginning of "Swordfish". The tunnel explosion in "Daylight". The destruction of several cities in "Independence Day". The destruction of New York in "Armageddon". The attack on Pearl Harbor in "Pearl Harbor"(really the ONLY part worth seeing in the entire movie!).
As far as great battle scenes: The end of "The Last Castle". Every battle in "The 13th Warrior". The battle at the end of "The Planet of the Apes"(2001). The original war with the bugs where most everone was slaughtered in "Starship Troopers". The Sioux VS the evil Native American tribe in "Dances with Wolves". The end battle in "Glory". The battle at the end of "Tears of the Sun". Every battle in "We Were Soldiers". Man VS machine in 'The Second Renesiance part 2' in the "Animatrix". For some reason everybody remembers the battle at the beginning of "Saving Private Ryan" but, not the one involving a tank at the end!
Guess I better leave some for others to come up with, huh? (I had to edit this for spelling errors & extra words since it was VERY late when I found this page & I was nearly falling asleep at the keyboard! I'm actually a stickler when it comes to spelling. I know... I probably still have a few spelling errors but, I don't spell 'Renesiance' everyday!)

Terminator 2 & 3 had awesome chases, but the absolute BEST chase I've ever seen in a film is the freeway one in BAD BOYS 2. When I saw that at the theatre, I had to close my eyes and tell myself to calm down, because my heartbeat was beating tons more than normal during every MINUTE of this intense car flipping scene in this movie. C'mon, how much more original can u get after launching cars off a wheeler? AWESOME. And the Island chase on the freeway was pretty kewl too, but still, Bad Boys 2 takes the cake. And as for shootouts, I think Bad Boys 2 ranks at the top of that list too, because it contained a pretty kewl shootout where the camara circled around every1 in the house (IF u've seen the movie, u KNOW what I'm talking about)
Naw, I haven't seen Live and Die in L.A. or Temple of Doom, but I've seen French Connection, and I think beside's the chase being REAL, um, yeah, uh, well damn, that was a good chase in frech connection lol, I dont know if it tops bad boys 2's though.
The scene in Oldboy where he fights his way out of the hotel-prison, through a tight hallway filled with 20 or so bad guys (with pleasant classical music being played in the background).
