I just saw the trailer when I saw "The Aviator". It looks like some kinda weird-but-fascinating combo of live action, computer animation and a graphic novel turned to film. The thing was edited so quickly-together that I could only make out fleeting images, but I hope the movie will have a fair share of atmosphere too.

Trailer looks pretty good, this is a make or break film for RR in my opinion. If it sucks, I will have to write him off as a wasted talent, if it is great, I will commend him for getting back on track. Lame kids movies and Once Upon A Time In Mexico have almost made me forget what an awesome film El Mariachi was. I know he worked extensively with Frank Miller and Tarantino to make this a faithful, quality adaptation though. I love the casting for the male parts, even though I tend to dislike Mickey Rourke, my Sin City loving friends tell me he is perfectly cast. It's the female roles that really scare me! Jaime King and Brittany Murphy are intolerable non-actors that could drag this film down like veritable Keanu's! I think Rosario Dawson, Maria Bello, and possibly even Jessica Alba might be able to pull it off, but the aforementioned two frighten me. Nonetheless, I'm sure Frank Miller would not allow it to be a crappy movie, and at the very least it should appeal to fans of the comic. Besides, it's got Michael Madsen, Benicio Del Toro and Clive Owen! I'm sure they will push Elijah Wood and Bruce Willis into performing well!
