I spent a few hours putting together a chronological montage of every beating dealt by Steven Seagal between the years '88 and '92 set to a quintessential soundtrack.

I watched a little more than five minutes of your montage. As I was watching I thought about two other fighting sequence deliveries, those by Jackie Chan and the other by Matt Damon. Steven Seagal has a raw, primitive, by the basic street fighting approach that isn't very sophisticated or stylized like Jackie Chan nor isn't so intellectually and professionally accomplished like a trained assassin like Matt Damon. What is rather appealing, though I don't know how interesting it would be in large quantities is how easy it is to relate to Steven Seagal's fighting sequences. Many of them appear to be fast and rapid and just plain effective. No fancy footwork or thinking involved. Personally, I prefer Matt Damon from the Bourne series, at least from a cinematic standpoint. Yet I'm glad to have observed something I haven't really paid attention to - Steven Seagal's much more elegance of efficiency, get it done realism.
