It is so hilarious, you have to watch it very, very soon Monkey_Boy so we can talk about it! By the way, off topic but how the heck was Paul Giamatti not nominated for Best Actor for Sideways or American Splendor? He is a truly amazing actor.

AS SOON AS MY WIFE GETS BACK, I'LL BE GOING ON A MISSION TO GET THIS MOVIE! GOSH! I'm just gonna buy it since my goal is to own any & every comic-based movie, no matter how terrible. Really, I do have "Elektra". That was the movie that broke the mold for "good comic-based movies" for me. Now, I don't care, if it's comic-based, I'm there. (Hey! That rhymed! I could be a rapper! ) It's just a goal of mine. I'm not saying EVERY comic based movie is a masterpiece, or even that I LOVE all of them, but as a comic book "Fan Boy", I GOTTA HAVE 'EM! quote: By the way, off topic but how the heck was Paul Giamatti not nominated for Best Actor for Sideways or American Splendor? I agree. It's probably because he's a comedic actor for MOST of his roles & it takes the Acedemy time to accept comedians as great actors. He is one of my favorite actors & I love his baby-like, chubby cheeks! I just wanna pinch the crap outta them! I hope I never meet him in person, it'd be very awkward.

Just got back AND...Mission: Failed. I went to 2 Wal-Marts, Best Buy, Circuit City, Game Stop, & Wherehouse Music! I even tried to order it through Columbia House, since I'm a member, EVEN THEY DON'T HAVE IT!!! "American Splendor" is NOWHERE!!!!! I HATE it when this happens! I had seen it EVERYWHERE before I even knew what it was about & now that I want it, it's nowhere to be found. Later in the week I'll try looking in other places, I guess.

Yeah, but I have a $15 late fee. My wife just can't seem to get those flippin' videos back when she should! So, it'd be just as much to buy it.

Monkey, you need one of those mail 'em to ya video deals. I pay $19 a month, and I get both brand new releases and obscure movies you can't find anywhere, about 20 of 'em. No late fees.

Ditto, re: Ishy. Congrats! Monkey, isn't there another corner you guys can check out? If it's a chain, one store doesn't know about the other's late fees.

I've been wanting to do that, but my wife won't let me. She HATES my addiction to movies & pretty much does anything to discourage me from being able to get my hands on more. Really, it is pretty bad. I've had a DVD player for only six years & I already have OVER 730 DVD's. "American Splendor" was gonna be #340.

No, the closest place is Hollywood Video & that's my $15 fee there. Then there is Blockbuster another couple miles from there & we have a $23 late fee there. Like I said, my wife does ANYTHING to discourage my habit. I had to beg her to take me out to look for "American Splendor" & I don't have to tell you about the smirk on her face when I couldn't find it. For those who don't know, I had surgery on my head 2 weeks ago & am unfit to drive right now. So, my wife is pulling an "Annie Wilkes" on me to keep me in the house! She's not breaking my legs, but she is denying me transport most of the time.

Well, of course, the point is that you don't get to keep them, but you can get them back the next time you want. I watch about 20 movies a month for the price of buying about one DVD a month. I get three at a time, so if I really want to watch one, over and over, I can still trade the other two in for new ones. Anyway, I hope you get more freedom and not less. We already know that your wife is a Sweetie, and that you love her more than possible, so it's not that hard to have a simple talk and explain that this actually abates your addiction. I know whereof I speak!

This made laugh out loud so much Monkey. Truly hilarious, you made my day. That really stinks that you couldn't find it anywhere. Maybe they will have it at FYE and/or Barnes and Noble. You know what? I had the same thing happen to me recently. I have seen that movie about 30-35 times, but I have only rented it. I had always seen at Best Buy and places like that but I always thought, "Nah, I will just wait" and instead I would rent it for $0.99 at Blockbuster, keep it for all five nights and watch it like six times. So finally I had some extra cash and I thought, "That's it, I am going to buy this movie now." So I went to Best Buy and Circuit City and they didn't have it. I was so disappointed. Hopefully you find it soon my monkey friend, we need to talk about it!

Glad I could make ya laugh, FragileKidA! I just talked to a buddy of mine who is a member of Netflix & he told me he'd look it up & put it at the top of his list if he finds it. So hopefully it won't be too long.

Families who don't even know each other all working together. We better put our Nobel Peace Prize Application in now. Y'all can use a share of over a million bucks, correct?

How messed up can Lucifer be to dislike a movie with Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Margot Kidder, & Mariel Hemingway & the danger of Nuclear Power?! What a jerk! I hope you flipped him off & kicked him in the junk!
