As you know, my formerly floating pall, I don't use online acronyms like most of the folks 'round the 'net. So I looked up Rolling On the Floor Laughing My Ass Off and then added a few letters of my own for no specific reason other than to poke fun. Wink

By the by, "THE DARK KNIGHT" COMES TO THEATERS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not a solid "YES" on if I'll be there tonight, but I'm definetly goin' to the 9:15am showing tomorrow morning if I don't make it!

The bootleggers round these parts have been sleeping on the job.
I haven't seen The Incredible Bulk, or Iron Man or even WALL-E....so god knows when my beloved Nolan/Bale bat tale complete with iconic Aussie Joker will come.... Frowner

Oh, and I love yr acronym dig. Stupid net acronyninnies... Wink

Oh, you poor widdle guy! Frowner I've seen all 3 of 'em and you're really missin' out on "Iron Man" & "Wall-E". "The Incredible Hulk" can wait 'til Blu-ray. "The Dark Knight" on the other hand...

Ya know, when I went into the theater I was thinkin' 'There's NO WAY I could be disappointed with this flick!' After seeing it, I can honestly say that this movie isn't overrated in the least! Good gravy! It just jumps right into the movie! No set up! No backstory! THIS is how a sequel should begin! Heath Ledger's Joker is so TRUE to the essence of what The Joker is! He said it himself, "I could never kill you! I'm having too much fun!" Soooooo what The Joker would say! Is he better than Nicholson's Joker? That's actually comparing apples and oranges. They both have their qualities that make them great in their own rights. I really can't say that one performance was better than the other because they are 2 distinctly different approaches to the character. I loved Nicholson's goofiness, but I also loved Ledger's personality as this nutball that's only in it for the chaos. He didn't get as goofy as I was hopin', but he did act crazy as a loon! Oh, and Two-Face was finally done right! Just wait until you see his face... GOOD GRAVY! Eeker

Yes. This movie is worth all of the hype! Yes. You're going to feel terrible that we lost such a fantastic actor and that there is just no way we'll ever see this performance again. Yes. You're going to wanna see this more than once! (I'm goin' to IMAX!) I do have one tiny, teensy-weensy problem: Did they kill Two-Face? I mean, I couldn't tell if he was breathing and they had that memorial for Harvey... They better not have killed Two-Face! Other than that, I'd say "We've found a $10 note in your hair, Bruce Wayne!" Big Grin

5 outta 5

Oh, yeah! Do you guys remember me "reporting" that they were gonna make Batman's eyes all white like in the comics? They found a way to do it! Cool

THEY DIDN'T SHOW THE "WATCHMEN" TRAILER WHERE I WENT! According to the director, they've stayed as true to the original material as possible and they haven't changed a thing about the ending. I actually enjoyed the way he shot "300", so I'm really looking forward to this one. The memorable trailers that accompanied my "TDK" were for "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (with an awesome shot of a football stadium being disintigrated!), "Bolt" (which looks hilariously cute) and "Terminator 4" (which might could be good for some man-on-machine action!). I was very disappointed not to have seen the ONE trailer I was really looking forward to ("Watchmen", duh!). Frowner Check out the website for the trailer. (That's how I finally saw it.) It looks pretty gall-dern cool to me!

You guys wanna read sumpthin' messed up? They frikkin' closed down the IMAX theater I used to go to! So now I CAN'T see "the Dark Knight" the way Nolan wanted me to! DAGNABIT! Mad

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go show my brother how to make a pencil disappear! Wink

That would be wonderful! A beautiful CG-animated one! I'm certain that with all of the cash these movies are bringing in, one is probably in the works. Wink

It is a great bit o' storytellin'! My 11-year-old nephew is actually a HUGE fan. My brother HATES that his son has become so much like his Uncle Monkey_Boy. He collects comics and even places his most treasured toys on a display shelf (he has a HUGE 12" Brain Gremlin -still in the original packaging- that he's always throwin' in my face! Mad Smiler). He's even got a few comics hung up on his bedroom walls! Big Grin For some reason my brother won't encourage this (I mean, at least the kid ain't fallin' in with the "wrong crowd". How much trouble can you get into collectin' comics?), so my "Mini-me" comes to visit once a month and the 2 of us go to the local comic book shop and talk superheroes, movies and toys for a weekend. It's a geeky good time! Big Grin

Oh, a tiny edit on one of my earlier posts: I typed that "The Joker shot Batgirl in the back", but it was her stomach! I always forget because I think of the shot severing her spine which leads me to think of her back. I can't believe I screwed that up! It took someone from another forum's "Dark Knight" thread to point it out to me. Red Face (I've really been wanting to talk about this movie! Big Grin)

I went to see "The Dark Knight" again and found that I had misquoted The Joker! Eeker He actually said sumpthin' to the effect of "I don't wanna kill you. You complete me! You're so much fun!" Yeah! That's the line! Big Grin This time around, we got a new trailer for "The Spirit" showcasing the women of the flick, BUT STILL NO "WATCHMEN"! Mad

In a few minutes, I'm headed to see "Wanted". FINALLY!!!!!!!

"Wanted" ain't too bad at all! It's not as light as "Iron Man", but doesn't get as dark as "The Dark Knight". The stunts certainly give "Shoot 'Em Up" a run for its money, though! Big Grin This is definetly a very violent picture with a very nice (if not somewhat predictable) twist towards the end. I was never really bored, but there were times I was like "Are we done yet?" It definetly seemed a tad too long, but then again, I had just sat through "The Dark Knight" not a few hours beforehand. (It'll be awhile before I pull off sumpthin' like that again!) They definetly strayed from the comics quite a bit (which I NEVER like. Mad). However, the film itself can stand on its own as a nice action flick to take in when the mood strikes. Wink It seems I've pulled $5 outta one of Angelina's dimples! Big Grin

4 outta 5

A little news for those of ya that NEED it. Wink

"The Dark Knight" has broken 10 records in it's FIRST WEEKEND!
1. Biggest Opening Weekend Profit - $155,000
2. Biggest Single Day Profit - $68 Million
3. Biggest Opening of 2008
4. Biggest July Movie Opening
5. Most Advanced Tickets Sold
6. Widest Release - 4,366 Theaters
7. Biggest Midnight Screening - $18.5 Million
8. Biggest IMAX Midnight Screening - $650,000
9. Biggest IMAX Opening Weekend Profit - $6 Million
10. Biggest Opening for PG-13
11. Broke "Titanic" record by millions. (Okay, this one ain't true, but we can all dream can't we? Wink)

Looks like we'll definetly be getting a third! Wink I just really hope we don't suffer from 3-itis. Frowner That would really suck. Frowner Goyer and Nolan have been discussing the villain for the third, but both are remaining tight-lipped over it (lousy sons a...).

Check out a few of the babes in "The Spirit"! Here's the trailer I saw when I went to see "The Dark Knight" the second time. SEXY!!!!!!!! If anything, this movie is gonna be some wild eye candy! Beautiful women and it's shot in the most interesting way!

"Iron Man" comes to DVD & Blu-ray September 30th. I've also learned that The Avengers will be in the sequel! We KNOW they're planning on having Iron Man, Hulk, Thor & Captain America, but they also hinted at a new Avenger who'll be making their appearance in "Iron Man II".

I guess I'll close with the roster of the next few CBMs to hit theaters:
"Whiteout" September 19 - Whiteout follows U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko as she uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic just as the sun is about to set for six months. She must catch the killer before he leaves the ice or be stuck there with him in the dark for six months.

"The Punisher: War Journal" December 5, 2008 - Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.

"The Spirit" December 25th - The story centers on Denny Colt, an ambitious young cop murdered in the line of duty who under mysterious circumstances is reborn as the masked mystery man known as the Spirit. Jackson would play the Spirit's nemesis, the Octopus, a meek lab assistant who reinvents himself as a psychotic nightmare that kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face. The Octopus' tentacles reach into every aspect of crime in fictitious Central City, a city he plans to wipe out.

Nuthin' too big (well, "The Spirit" definetly looks interesting), but hey, they're COMIC-BASED MOVIES! Might as well be happy with what we've got! Big Grin

I've found a coupla trailers you guys might enjoy...

"Punisher: War Zone" Now, I know that they've butchered the crap outta the character of Frank Castle to the point Tom Jane quit in protest, but who knows? It looks like it could be enjoyable if you just watch it as an action flick. Kinda like "Wanted". (The only connection to that movie and its comic counterpart is the assassins' "club" and the names of a few characters.) At least we have a REAL Punisher villain (in Jigsaw) this time 'round.

TRAILER FOR "X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Pause the second vid. It's the other half of the trailer.) Did you catch a young James Howlet popping his claws in his jammies?! Eeker Did you see The Blob?! Eeker Did you see Gambit throwing his friggin' cards?! Eeker DID YOU SEE SABRETOOTH LOOKIN' LIKE FRIKKIN' SABRETOOTH?! Eeker Eeker Eeker GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! GOOD GRAVY! This has become my MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIE OF 2009!

Looks pretty awesome! Was that Dead Pool I saw in the first video?! Why the hell is Gambit in the film? Wolverine better of had bone claws in that scene where he was a kid, *raises clenched fist* He better have...

GOOD EYE! Yep. He's being played by Ryan Reynolds. I'm hopin' they make him as ugly as he's supposed to be after he enters the Weapon X Project! (He's actually drawn uglier than that in the books, but I couldn't find a pic online. All I needed was a page from Deadpool #1! STUPID INTERENT!)

I'm not exactly sure what role he has, but he certainly looked pretty nifty throwin' that card and twirlin' his staff! I'm just waitin' to hear if he'll have his accent. He better not be a result of the WXP, that's fer sure! Mad

I'm sure he's gonna. Big Grin I'm actually wonderin' if they're gonna recreate the entire moment of "his first time". How much are they gonna reveal? Will they have the man he kills be the one who killed his father? Will they keep the fact that he looks more like him than he does his own father? Will they touch upon the fact that that's where he "got" the name Logan? So many questions that I so hope they "answer" on the big screen! (They've already been answered on the page over here. VERY ENJOYABLE READ!)

I'll tell ya one thing, they got the color of his PJs wrong! If I wanted to be a true fanboy, I suppose I could take issue with that! Mad Wink

Agreed! That’s partly what worries me. I wonder how Gambit will fit in a movie that’s clearly based on Wolverine’s origin.

I just viewed the trailer again and it looked like he had bone claws Big Grin

At the very least, it already looks better than the X-Men movies.

Same thing over here. It especially worries my boy! He kept asking "Why is Gambit in it?". He just couldn't undersatnd how he fit into Wolvie's origin and is a tad wary.

That it does! Smiler I can't believe we had to wait for a solo Wolverine story in order to get Sabretooth done right! Liev Schreiber is Victor Creed! I can't wait to see how all of this comes together!

Hey there, fanboys and girl! (Wink) I'm back with more CBM "news"! Were ya wonderin' if you'd ever get your fix? Big Grin

To start things off, it seems we're getting a new CBM starring Venom. Todd McFarlane doesn't think it could work. I tend to agree. The Venom I LOVE is a demented psychopath. I HATED it when they made him a "Lethal Protector". Roll Eyes I guess we'll see where they're headed when we see who they cast as our symbiote with a grudge. Let's stay as far away from Topher Grace's "skinny/cry baby version" as possible, please.

Jenna Dewan has been cast as Patience, the current Magdalena! That's right! We're finally getting "Magdalena" on the big screen! Marc Silvestri (the comic creator) is very happy with the casting choice and has said that she "will do justice to this female-centric action flick". I can only hope so! If this movie is successful, does that mean The Darkness won't be too far behind?

The trailer for the animated "Wonder Woman" flick coming February 2009! Megan Gale is being considered to play Wonder Woman in "Justice League" set for next year.

Frank Miller and Jason Stratham are wanting to put together a "Daredevil" reboot. I'm gonna have to wait until I see what Mr. Miller does with "The Spirit" before I back him on this project. Not that I'm not dying to see Daredevil done 100% right (the original director did a great job with the director's cut, but the casting of Ben Afleck and Jennifer Garner wasn't all that great and taking Stick out of the story was just STUPID!), but let's not screw up the guy worse than we already have.

Robert Rodriquez is wanting Rose McGowan to play "Red Sonja"! An origin story is set to hit theaters in 2010.

Green Lantern has been green-lit for production! Details will follow as they develop!

For the next Bat-flick, producers are talking to Johnny Depp to play The Riddler. And typin' of Batman... "The Dark Knight" is kickin' @ss! It has DOMINATED the box office over the past 4 weeks and has surpassed Marvel's "Spider-Man" as the "Biggest Comic Book Movie" (North American Box office in millions):
1. "The Dark Knight" 2008 - $415.5
2. "Spider-Man" 2002 - $403.7
3. "Spider-Man 2" 2004 - $373.3
4. "Spider-Man 3" 2007 - $336.4
5. "Iron Man" 2008 - $316.0
6. "Batman" 1989 - $251.1
7. "Men In Black" 1997 - $250.6
8. "X3: The Last Stand" 2006 - $234.2
9. "X2: X-Men United" 2003 - $214.9
10. "300" 2007 - $210.6
11. "Batman Begins" 2005 - $205.3
12. "Superman Returns" 2006 - $200.0
13. "Men In Black 2" 2002 - $190.4
14. "Batman Forever" 1995 - $184.0
15. "Batman Returns" 1992 - $162.8
16. "X-Men" 2000 - $157.1
17. "Over the Hedge" 2006 - $154.8
18. "Fantastic Four" 2005 - $154.5
19. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" 1990 - $135.2
20. "Superman" 1978 - $134.2

If you were to adjust the prices (for nerdnes
