Jet Li and Jason Statham get in some serious fighting in this new movie. What's different about this movie is the no-nonsense approach towards a combined martial arts, police action thriller. The focus here is not so much on martial arts but the more global look at an Asian crime syndicate being shot up by themselves, Chinese, Japanese along with a strong element of professional killings. Unfortunately for all its vitality and powerful cinematography, there are too many minor problems that direct this movie off course slightly. Jet Li continues his strong streak of performances. Jason Statham holds his own. There are some good supporting roles, particularly Chang's daughter (the Chinese Triad's up and coming second in command). This movie is worth a look, but don't get too bogged down on its petty flaws and instead enjoy the movie. Seven out of Ten Stars.
