Heres what I've gotten from the same website I seem to get any information: www.rottentomatoes.com. Okay, what I've read is that the next Bond flick, entitled "Casino Royale" will be sticking with the book and is a grittier Bond than we are used to. The synopsis of the movie is that Bond has just become a "00" and by the end of the film, he's been molded from average man to a hard serious Bond that we know.
Now, it has been rumored that Brosnan is back for the next Bond. Which might be good, because I'm sure that this will completely revamp the series and will be the first one that I am actually jazzed up about. Anyways, if you want to read it yourself go here
According to IMDb today, the new Bond will be unknown Daniel Craig, and he's set for Casino Royale. Pierce Brosnan wanted $42 million (!) to return according to one of two articles at IMDb today.

Daniel Craig? Well I like the sound of THAT (and of course, I don't know who he is) more than I like the sound of P. Diddy! Yeah, supposedly he reaaaallly wanted to be the next Bond and thought it would be good for the black community. I hope that blacks can settle for Ice Cube in XXX 2, because there is no way that you can convince me that P. Diddy is a English gentlemen
I'm sure there isn't much respect due, however, you'd better not be playing the "racist against a black man" card on me. I don't care if the next Bond is black, I just want it to be a man that could pull it off. P.Diddy may be rich, but I think he's lacking in Bond's woman appeal. Look at Connery, he got all the ladies, and convinced me it was realistic (I had to have been 12) but even at that age had I saw P. Diddy do it I wouldn't ever see it. It would feel to silly with the Bad Boy playing the lead.
I really shouldn't have to feel like I need to explain myself, because racism is only a problem because people like you make it one. You flipside everything, like when someone disagrees with an African, you automatically think its an opinion created on the grounds that hes black, therefor I don't like him. Its unsensible and completely rude to point a finger at me over it. If you are black, be proud, but don't be a jerk about it.
HOWEVER, and if you respond to me over what I have said, please do NOT respond to this, because I know what you will say. I think that it might kill it if we turn Bond into Shaft. IF Bond is going to be black in the future, can I at least get agreed with by all of you that he shouldn't be a gangster-like fellow, he shouldn't talk in ebonics, and he shouldn't ruin the novelty of Bond being quiet and cool. I could see P.Diddy like "BABY WASSUP?? You gon' be my girl?! Shake ya ass bitch!" Look, no racism intended, it's just rappers nature.
And P.S.--- if he COULD act without having his attitude pulled into it, I, Nik, could consider it.
Get over yourself. Nobody said a thing about race, so stop with the histrionics (sometimes I wonder why I even bother with your kind).
My point was simply that, although I have absolutely no faith in Diddy as an actor, if he pulled a miracle out of his ass and honed his acting skills, what's to stop him from being believable as an "English gentleman?"
I simply thought it was interesting that you- with less than stellar grammar- would make such a comment.
Instead, you went the whole "I'm not a racist, but..." route. Take the time to actually study the circumstances before mouthing off.
PS:
quote:
I really shouldn't have to feel like I need to explain myself, because racism is only a problem because people like you make it one.
I'm assuming I should translate this as "Racism only exists while it's being discussed."
...and that's a standpoint I won't even dignify with response.
Good day

I'll bet everybody a million bucks that Diddy won't be THE new Bond, so can we take a time out and discuss who WILL? I hope everybody has vented enough, at least in public. I know. I've vented on these boards too, but I try not to stretch them out past ONE post.
Anybody hear more about this? It seems that every week, there's another contradiction. The same person who came up with all those fake rumors about Tarantino making a dozen different films in the next three years is probably behind this Bond stuff.
