"If it were beneficial, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect." -Jesus, from the Gospel Of Thomas
The chick fight in Airplane - still the most brutal woman on woman fight on film Cannonball Run The Warriors Raising Arizona (Tex Cobb vs. H.I.) Heat (gunfight in downtown LA) Monty Python & the Holy Grail (only a fleshwound) Army of Darkness Evil Dead II

Some good choices so far. Smenkharon, how long was that Piper/David thing in "They Live!", eight or nine minutes? I also love the Dead-Alive scene because it comes from out of nowhere (oops, spoiler.) RayRay, The Monty Python mention is appreciated, but I'll have to add the little bunny "fight." Now, I considered researching this so as not to forget too much, but I might as well let others do that. I just want to add the scene in "Crouching Tiger" where the princess destroys the restaurant, basically all of "Iron Monkey" and the original "Manchurian Candidate" where Frank Sinatra and Henry Silva fought in what I believe was the first martial-arts scene in an American film (Sinatra broke his hand.)

The fight in They Live! is definitely one of the best film fights ever. It's soooo long, and they're fighting over putting on a pair of sunglasses! Hilarious.
I also have to add that the breakdancing fights in "Breakin'" and Breakin' II: Electric Boogaloo" are pretty amazing. I still haven't figured out how you determine who wins a breakdance fight, but the contestants always know.
Eight Diagram Pole Fighter - Brother 5 fighting off the mongols with a crapload of poles.
Gummo - the fight between the drunk hillbilly and the kitchen chair. (I think this was in Gummo? It was either in that or a home video I watched of an actual hillbilly birthday party)
The Bride fights the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill Vol. 1
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: First fight between Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi.
The Princess Bride: Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin swordfighting on top of the cliffs.
Anyone see "Fist of the Iron Monkey?" directed by Yuen wo Ping? the end of it has three ninjas fighting on top of burning wooden poles... awesome. relatively recent (93). Also hilarious dubbing.
K-dog - "equilibrium" also makes my list, I've been trying to master the guncat recently.
Bruce Lee - "Game of Death" - 5'7'' bruce lee fighting, then dominating 7'2'' Kareem Abdul Jabar.
way of the gun last scene?
this is something of a guilty pleasure but Mission Impossible Two had some excellent action
the proffessional last scene?
Ghost in the Shell? (anime)
Ninja Scroll, definitely (anime)
and finally, number one action in either live or animated:
AKIRA
nothing can top the sumptuous artwork and destructive flair of this movie

I love martial arts flicks and they all start to run together because I've seen so many. Bruce Lee was the master. Pretty much any of his fight scenes rule. Brandon also had some great fight scenes, not only in the Crow, but in a couple of his other films like Rapid Fire. There are a lot of great martial arts scenes from smaller "b" films like The Perfect Weapon with Jeff Speakman. I also enjoy the "classic" Van Damme (screw you guys, he's a great kickboxer) flicks like Bloodsport and Kickboxer. He also had some pretty brutal fight scenes in other films like Death Warrant and Lion Heart. One of my favorites is from his film Double Impact where he fights the guy with the spurs in the shadows, just jumping out here and there to take quick shots. As far as my favorite recent martial arts actor/scenes, I love watching Jet Li. This guy is so fast it's mind boggling. Even in his movies that suck like The One and Cradle 2 The Grave, his fight scenes still blow you away. The scene Kiss of the Dragon where he takes on 20 guys in a martial arts class is fantastic as is the "boxing ring" scene from Cradle 2 the Grave. The little guy's getting up there (he's 41 now) but looks to have quite a bit of action still left in him.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face
I gotta say, I'm a huge Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee enthusiast, but I found someone (from modern day no less!) that seems to have surpassed them both.
His name is Phanom Yeerum (aka Tony Ja in the US) from Thailand, and the movie is:
Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior
I hate hyping movies for those who haven't seen them, but this deserves it and then some. You'd have to love violence to love this, it's all full contact Muay Thai, no fx. The most amazing bone-crunching moves I've ever witnessed (think Story of Ricky style moves but more realistic by far). I'd even go so far as to say it's better than Enter the Dragon and Drunken Master or Snake in the Eagles Shadow, if only for the fights. Good (but cliched) story.
Its not available everywhere, but you can get it uncut (please do-cut version is tame) on eBay and YesAsia.com.

"The Matrix" series "Rocky" I am also going to have to add Nightcrawler in "X2" Of course the timeless classic "Cripple Fight" although not a movie I think it might work "The Rundown" had some pretty good action in it.
That is all that I can think of right now.

As it hasn't been mentioned, I enjoyed the "Fistful of Yen" spoof in The Kentucky Fried Movie. Also, I loved Kung Fu Hustle and the one man army fight scene in Oldboy.

The scene on top of the burning logs in Iron Monkey is so over the top! PCP is right on! I love that film, probably Yuen Wo Ping's best work.

Originally posted by EccentricSam: The Crazy 88 fight sequence in Vol. 1 kicked some serious ass, but Im going to go with the Elle Driver v. Beatrix Kiddo AKA The Bride in Vol. 2.
I agree. The Crazy 88 fight scene choreography was very well coordinated, but Beatrix's fight with Elle was more...for lack of a better word...violent.
Beatrix vs. Go Go was a good one too, but I think it was too brief.
