Heck ya...Stardust was great. I really wish that Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk would have done more acid house-esq tunes like Music Sounds Better With You.

Those are great recommends Furnace. And if you're checking out Orbital, you really need to listen to the track Halcyon. BUT...while the studio track is great, you need to hear the live version. It is so awesome. Right in the middle of the song, they mash-up Bon Jovi's "Shot Through the Heart" and Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven Is A Place On Earth". You wouldn't believe it, but they go together perfectly. It's so great...the crowd goes nuts.

Trance:
Blank and Jones is a staple (listening to them right now).

DJ GT also spins some great stuff. Check out any of his "Voices of" mixes (Summer, Autumn, Time etc.)

Kuffdam is also putting out some great stuff. Someone in the UK might be able to fill us in on him.

Toby Lee Connor has some great mixes out right now as well. Some of his stuff is hard to find but its great if you can find it.

Voodoo and Serano is putting out some really new, interesting stuff as well. go to their site here: Voodoo and Serano and click on Music.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back.

What about psy trance?

For me it has been the only trance that has real quality. I would suggest you to try GMS's "no rules" or, even better, their collaboration with Systembusters.

Great stuff.

armin van buuren (sp?) has a certain style of trance that I like, melodic soundtrack sounding stuff. I'm not an oakenfold or tiesto fan, though both have a few good tracks. The song "spiral" on "state of trance 04" by van buuren is my fav

Does anyone know the godfather of trance music? Well it's Klaus Schulze, and if there is any trance music that you should listen to, it should be his. In the 70's he did a lot of experimental electronic music with traces of trance, then through out the 80's that's when he dabbled deeper into the genre, he even has two albums with the word trance in the title (Trancefer and En=Trance). In the 90's he started to experiment with sampling but quickly ended it and gave way to techno. He is the master at the game (the game of all electronic music) and always will be.

I can’t wait for his new album this year!

There are so many great artists to name but if you were to condense it down into a couple of artist they would be:

Paul Oakenfold before he sold out and had britney murphy singing during his mixes

Paul Van Dyke, I challenge anyone to listen to any of his albums from the late 90's and not find ground breaking expression of trance.

Tiesto, who has his moment of brilliance but produces alot of mediocre stuff as well.

When speaking Trance, those picks are cliches at this point.

As far as my trance listening goes, I'm more into psy-trance. You can't really go wrong with Astral Projection, the older Infected Mushroom, Juno Reactor. The genre is loaded with heavy hitters.
