One of the most anticipated albums of the year for me.

Track list and first single "Couleurs" are streaming here: http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=9028

Also, you can buy "Couleurs" and a sweet remix of the song in an ep on Itunes.

Yes!!!
If it's anything like Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghosts then I'm on board. I'm really digging the new track as well.

Big Grin Yeah, Future of the Left are great... After Mclusky broke it off, I was happy to see that something else would take their place.

It's unabashedly 80s in quite a few songs, which I totally love.

Better than the last two M83 records, I think.

Does it sound more like Dead Cities or Before the Dawn? I liked the former much better than the latter.

So, first impressions...

Saturdays = Youth aint no Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. But then that, for the record, is one of my all-time favourite records, so that’s not to discount it at all!

Tonally, it’s probably a cross between Before the Dawn Heals Us and the dreamy aesthetic of Digital Shades Vol 1.

For better or worse, it has much more structured, 80s influenced pop-style melodies than Lost Ghosts. Better, as in the delicate ‘Graveyard Girl’ and excellent ‘Kim & Jesse.’ Worse, as in ‘Up!’ (I mean, what is with those Celine Dion and Enya-style vox?).

Still, it has most of the things I love about M83– those transportive shoegaze moments and that sense of sadness and longing. I'm enjoying it. A lot.

Man, I don't know about this one. Some of the tracks strike me as downright cheesy, especially "Up!" and "We Own the Sky." The best tracks are the mostly instrumental ones like "Couleurs" and "You, Appearing."

Though I'll admit the new one is a far reach from the debut, I like this one much, MUCH more than Before the Dawn Heals Us. I honestly can't stand behind a single song on that record.

But I hear you on "Up!" It's definitely not one of my favorites. Some of the other vocal tracks are nice, though -- especially "Skin of the Night."

The album to me is more like Before the Dawn Heals Us, but better.

What the hell is with you people and not liking "Up!"? The vocals sound like (later) Kate Bush.

I love the single "Couleurs" as well as two or three other tracks on the album, but as a whole, the record hasn't grown on me.

What up with all the Before Dawn bashing.....I loved that album and listened to it more than Dead Cities.

As for Couleurs....Holy Depeche Mode sound!! But very nice...can't wait to hear it

Right now, I'm loving the crap out of this album.

I've yet to try a headphone test.
But i did blast the whole album in my backyard on my iTower. That worked nicely. Big Grin

Up!, Graveyard Girl, Couleurs, Skin Of The Night, We Own The Sky, are all amazing.

The bookends of the album are awesome as well.

I'm loving the 80's-centric side of M83. ALOT.
