Hi,

I've noticed that Brit Dance/House music is not covered much here. Any fans out there?
Of such things like Renaissance, Global Underground, Ministry Of Sound etc etc

Come on you House Music lovers! lol.

I'm a fan of house but I don't know much about it. Care to educate us (or me) on British House?

I don't really know the artist's who PRODUCE House/Dance music. I tend to follow DJ's who select the tracks and make compilations out of them. There is a lot of music being produced so to have someone choose the best tracks is a bonus. Particularly if you like their taste/style.
DJ's that are big in the UK are:-
Tiesto
John Digweed
Sasha
Paul Oakenfold
Dave Seaman
Danny Tenaglia
Nick Warren
Deep Dish - Sharam & Dubfire
Danny Howells
Lee Burridge
Satoshi Tomiie
Steve Lawler
Anthony Pappa
Sander Kleinenberg
Desyn Massiello
Luke Fair
Paollo Mojo
Chris Fortier
Jimmy Van M
James Zabiela
Pete Tong
Nic Fancuilli

There are others, but these seem to be 'big boys' who have all released one or more excellent compilation(s) recently (in the last few years).
The music they choose for their compilations is probably from the global, international Dance scene, but they are the prime movers on the UK Dance scene. In as much as DJ's affect or drive Dance music.

Renaissance, Ministry Of Sound and Global Underground are companies that release Dance music compilations. They are all UK based and they ask a DJ to compile a CD for them and then they release it. Renaissance and Global Underground have worked with many of the DJ's in the list above. Ministry Of Sound is a 'lighter' more commercial based label that releases Ibiza, Summer, Clubbers Guide etc compilations.
