I've recently began lisgtening to Air and seem to just love every Cd they've made. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions of other bands to listen to that would probably satisfy my taste.

The first thing that comes to mind is "Ladytron - 604"; they have 3 albums and and they are all very good. It sounds most like "Walkie Talkie" FYI... but other than them.. I can't really think of anything! They do have a unique sound.

I have always enjoyed dark electronica, from Joy Division to Portishead, the dreamier the better. I heard this band for the first time through a friend, this album 11i, and it starts out on a nice pace. The vocalists sounds like Virginia Macolino from Berlin. Trip-hop, mostly, then it goes into drum and bass territory and breakbeat, then on to psychedelic guitar fuzz, jazz, and industrial. I like the percussion and production tricks. 4/5..:righton:

Black Moth Super Rainbow are often compared with Air because of their use of vocoded/effects-laden vocals, they also utilize a lot of synths and groove-heavy drumbeats (although their synths are more vintage analog sounding a la Boards of Canada). Still, I think you would enjoy their stuff.

Their latest album is called Dandelion Gum and might be their best release so far.

I got my first Air album yesterday ^_^. And no it wasn't Moon Safari, I'm waiting for the remaster to come out this year.

If you like Moon Safari, make sure you get Serge Gainsbourg's Historie de Melodie Nelson.

Air rather blatantly ripped it off for Moon Safari Big Grin

Marconi Union have that deep atmospheric sound try Distance which came out a couple of years back on Brian Eno's label. There's a newer one called A Lost Connection which is only available as a download.

Ulrich Schnauss is good to, and I agree about the Serge Gainsbourge album.

I can't believe no one suggested Royksopp yet...

They are very very much like Air. You couldn't tell the difference on some of their tracks. Take for example their songs:

- Beautiful Day without you
- Cry Baby
- Only This Moment

to name a few. They also have a few music videos out.

I had the same question as the thread opener and I'm glad for the many suggestions on this site. That's why I registered to say thank you.
I'm happy that I could suggest something that wasn't already on here. ^__^

P.s. someone suggested "The Knife". Röyksopp's track "What else is there" is sung by the lady from "Knife".

I'm actually embarrassed to not have mentioned Royskopp myself. 100% agree.

And Mylo as well! Though sounds more American than Air..

Anything by Tosca should do the trick, more groove based but still dreamy and at their best, great attention to detail.

Stranger but still very groovy and dreamy is Reno's "Thinking About the Good Times."

Quieter but still swooning stuff is Shrift's "Lost in a Moment."

Dreamy but with some latin groove injected is Mo' Horizons' "Remember Tomorrow."

More great indie style dream electro pop is the School of Seven Bells' "Alpinisms" and Reverie Sound Revue's self titled.
