After a couple listens, I can confirm to all inquiring minds that The Chemical Brothers are dead. Their new album is pretty horrible and has no breaks to be found. The entire album has a melodic feel to it and it never really picks up any steam.

Tolerable tracks:

"We are the Night"
"All Rights Reversed"
"Saturate"
"A Modern Midnight Conversation"

Horrible tracks"
"Battle Scars"
"Harpoons"

The rest is bland and not really worthy of note. I will mention "The Salmon Dance" which is the most out of place song on the album.

Well, I agree, total lack of breaks and overall not stunning. It was just.... average.

Oh yeah, and "The Salmon Dance" is horrible! The whole time all that was running through my head was "What the fuhhhh?!"

The only track that stands out to me is the final track, which I think is quite lovely. The rest is, as you've both indicated, quite dismissible. So sad....... they've really fallen since the great Surrender.

The only track I've heard so far is "Do It Again". I thought it was horrible. They need to go back to the drawing board in my opinion.
