I was under the impression that DJ Shadow has been around for so long and has such a solid rep that he didn't need this kinda stuff. Now, although I have no evidence, such as was provided by LinnTate regarding OldSchoolJazz, this seems like the second coming warned-of by LT. These are my thoughts alone, but it just seems like someone took KT's advice about making some posts (all short and almost pointless) before advertising. I'm not an authority on DJ Shadow, but several people I respect say that he's tops. Still, I don't like the smell of this thread.

Um yeah, I didn't know there were music lovers out there who hadn't heard of DJ Shadow! Is this why record companies are so clueless? They hire people who don't know anything? I mean it has been at least 8-9 years since people started raving about him. All the Boom Bip's and Rjd2's owe their success to his paving of the way. If you don't know Shadow, go buy an album of his, but talking about him here is redundant. KILL THIS THREAD!

Friends, please, let's give waxwizzard the benefit of the doubt. After all it's not like waxwizzard just showed up and started spamming right away. Waxwizzard posted to four whole threads before spamming us, which looks to be a record for waxwizzard.
Now Playing: Silence, which if we're lucky is what we'll hear next from waxwizzard.

we'll I guess I am going to have to break my record and make it six post on this board. For your info I ain't spamming, I honestly never heard of this dude. Forgive me I tend to be a lil slow on some things.
Hmmm...given your well-documented and easily Googled history of joining literally hundreds of message boards, posting a single message remarkably similar in style and content to other participants in Universal's NetReach division, your assertions to the contrary are suspect to say the least, waxwizzard.
Or, with due respect to your further protestations that you are a bit slow...
Are too.
Now Playing: "On Top" The Killers Hot Fuss (Universal) <-- How ironic. I wonder if I can sign up for their street team, spam a few message boards and win some kewl prizes?!!

You are too kind, MGE. Really I am just a simple man who has made a solemn vow to use my inherent crankiness for good rather than evil.
Well, that and the fact that waxwizzard and his ilk are such hacks. I mean, if you're going to go to the trouble of spamming hundreds of message boards, at least have the common decency to bring an entertaining insanity to the table.
Now Playing: Die Hard on FX. Action Adventure is not my usual cup of tea, so why is it I've seen this movie about a thousand times?

Thank you LinnTate! I suddenly have no desire to purchase anything from Universal ever again. Too bad they will soon own all of entertainment.
Look, Universal interns, "online street team" members, record company execs, sales people, and anyone else who is sitting out there thinking of clever ways to get people to buy your crap ... do NOT use our message boards to do it.
Metacritic people are smart. Their IQ is probably higher than yours and they have very sensitive BS detectors. People will notice what you are doing and you will be called on it. All you are doing is setting yourself up to be exposed and smacked down.
Also, we would like to draw your attention to the Downloads and Streaming Media thread, which is a place where you can direct people to an artist's website if it contains some music for them to listen to and that is perfectly fine.

KT, I love you but that almost sounds like an insult!

I know this is an old thread but damn, LinnTate, you're wicked. If you one day came out with an okay, not great DVD, I'd gladly tell 50 different boards of people for you subtly changing each one to make them seem personal. F*ck the RIAA, that's what I always say.
