Today at least!

He has released several albums under many "alter" egos if u will...icluding kerrier district, plug, wagon christ and of course this person is Luke Vibert.

Yes i said it Luke Vibert is holding the belt for heavyweight champ in electronic music. At least for now he is.

He has released albums onmanylabels anywhere from early on(mo' wax) to more recently on more experimental labels Rephlex and Planet Mu.

I am not quite sure but i think he has released 3-4 albums inthe past 12 months.Which is a feat in its ownself.I thought buying these albums that the would watered down or would lack focus, but they dont they are all unique in theor own stylings.

I cannot wait to see what 05' bring for Mr.Vibert.

I know he is supposed to have an album out on Planet MU in April...but i dont know if it will be an ep or an lp or whatever.

I think Dabrye will b eup ther in a minute...once he releases onemore album under his name Dabrye...ithink two/three is supposed to come out soon.I loved the new James T. cotton album and his work as Tadd Mulinix.I am not quite sure of what he does as SK-1 but i think he only has 1 release under that name.

Those 2 artists are definately 2 important people in electronic music today!

Sorry I Make You Lush was too flat for me to listen to more than twice. Other than the Kerrier District release in June, what else did he put out this year?

I respect Vibert for somehow surviving the IDM explosion — and inevitable collapse — in the 90s. Seeing Plaid's tour for Double Figure signaled the end for me — I've never been so bored at a "live" show.

But if I had to nominate my own "champ", I'd probably throw Prefuse 73 into the ring. I'll take unmatched quality over tedious prolificacy.

Prefuse 73 is not prolific? He is quality...but i am extremely warey of where he is going to go next. His side project savath and savalas...at least the last 2 albums...have been a joke.Talk about a bore. They were not even worth listening to once.

And i am sorry...i dont think IDM has gone anywhere. But i dont even consider idm anymore...it is way too vague...you could classify alot of artists under idm.But that is another story.

There was the kerrier district album, the luke vibert album Yoseph which is incredible and the wagon christ album that you spke of earlier...that is what i remember off the top of my head.I would have to check...i think there is one more.

My fav wagon christ album is easily "throbbing pouch"it is almost 10 year sold now..but very good.

I also have not liked plaid since they have gone for a "happy" sound and stopped workin gunder the black dog alias. They have 2 albums under the black dog name...they are both easily the best work those 2 have ever done. The stuff they make now is redundant and has a stench of being infatuated with themselves.

for electronic music, let's not forget Trent Reznor. A lot of dark, ambient and heavy beats started with this guy.
Current: I like Amon Tobin and Orbital...

i will agree that savath&savalas left me kinda bored, but i'd still follow scott herren anywhere. one word extinguisher and extinguished were both amazing in my opinion...and i die a little each day knowing that his new album is done and i don't have it yet. collabs with the books, wu-tang, el-p, cafe tacuba, broadcast? that will rule.

they've go the new single playing on the warp records homepage: http://www.warprecords.com

i like it. a lot.

dabrye is seriously underrated. looking forward to two/three.
