I'm trying to think up a playlist for late-night chillout sessions. You know, after a long night at the club, you don't really feel like listening to loud music anymore and you're driving back home at 4am.. but still want something soothing and downbeat? Maybe even seductive. I came up with a quick list for inspiration:

Futureshock - On My Mind
Underworld - M.E.
Junior Boys - Under the Sun
Royskopp - Only This Moment
Air - Alone in Kyoto

If I was to mae a mix, I'd pull from these albums.

Bruno Pronsato - Why Can't We Be Like Us
The Field - From Here We Go TO Sublime
Gui Boratto - Chromophobia
Starkey - Ephmeral Exhibits
AGF/Delay - Symptoms
Ellen Allien - Sool
Ellen Allien/Apparat - Orchestra of Bubbles
Acrnym - Flowers
Wisp - NRTHNDR
VSnares - The Chocolate Wheelchair Album ("Sky Painted On Car" in particular)

My thought process:
Anything minimal tends to work. Also anything ambient that has a good beat. And a lot of albums on BPitch.

I wish junior boys weren't so minimalist. Alot of their tracks are real cool but they get boring cause they are so skeletal.

Just an FYI, Junior Boys are so lush that they're almost the opposite of minimal..

Lush? That's the last thing I'd think when I hear Junior Boys. I'm quite sure 90% of fans would agree that "skeletal" is a good description of their music.

I have heard a lot about Thievery Corporation; maybe it's about time I checked some tracks out. Thanks for the album recs jack, but, since this is the "ultimate afterparty playlist" I'd like individual songs from those albums if you don't mind...

LaRockStar since you're familiar with what I want, why don't you rec something similar? Especially like Futureshock!

Why can't it be lush and skeletal? I was referring to those synths.. I haven't heard synths like that in any mnml I've listened to..

I was trying to clarify my usage of the word "minimal" in my post above his.. I was talking about the style of techno and it seemed he took that to just be "minimal" (hence why I said "doesn't sound like antyhing minimal I've heard" rather than "doesn't sound minimal").

P.S. I wasn't making recommendations either; I was just listing my after-party music. I don't do tracks really (I generally just make mixes for friends not myself), so if you'd like to check out those album and add to your list, that works.. but that wasn't necessarily the intention.
