I just read the review of the tribute concert! I think I'm going to lose it, but at least, I can cry myself to sleep. There's only one original Ramone left!!!

I'm remembering the concert I went to in San Francisco where I got knocked down in the mosh pit and saw my life flash before my eyes before all the crazies stopped pogoing and picked me up so you could all read my sparkling banter. Oh well, it's all the Ramones', or at least their old fans', fault.

1-2-3-4! Twenty-twenty-twenty-four hours to go! I wanna be sedated! RIP, Johnny, Joey and DeeDee.

Wow...that's really sad. I'm a huge Ramones fan. If fact, I'm heading out to Pasadena (CA) this Saturday night for a midnight show of "Rock 'N Roll High School" at the Rialto Theater. What a great campy flick. They didn't get their due in their heyday, but I'm glad they're now being acknowledged as one of the most influential bands of all time.

Gabba gabba hey!

I can do little more than echo everybody else's sentiments.

I once in a moment of beer-fueled bravado loudly announced to the room that anybody who does not love The Ramones, hates life a little.

Hyperbole? Sure, but you have to stand for something, right?

Hey, Ho! Let's Go!

Now Playing: "Babysitter" The Ramones Leave Home (Sire) <-- What else, today?

I would say, LT, you stood for free speech. It's not a coincidence that the Ramones liberally peppered all their albums with American symbols (The American Eagle and all its symbols on currency are everywhere.) I challenge anyone to tell me a band that showed pride in America on their music covers as much as the Ramones. That's only fair that they sang about "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg" (one of my prized vinyl.)

I have nothing of substance to add here, only that I'm saddened by the loss. If there were any justice, there would only be one of the original Sex Pistols left and the Ramones would be on a triumphant, sell-out reunion tour with the Pixies as THEIR openers.

A friend recently had a baby shower and the prize present (in a sea of diaper bags, car seats, and bottles) was a little baby Ramones one piece.

Gabba Gabba Hey!!!!

I can relate to your enthusiasm, pE, but exactly, which Ramones live and which Sex Pistols die? (An interesting philosophical dilemma, to quote a film.) Long live the Pixies...YOU better not die anytime soon.

Done. And quit being so bossy. If Johnny Ramone were still alive, he'd be furious.
