check out McSweeney's for other authors in a similar style.
Michael Chabon and David Foster Wallace are both sort of similar.

if you like dave eggers' style, i would suggest john hockenberry's memoir, "moving violations." their writing styles are similiar. dave eggers teaches at berkeley, where i go to school! i think so anyway, i believe he teaches in the graduate journalism department. also, did write all those other books listed above? i've only read heartbreaking work of staggering genius, but i loved it

We're featuring three stories from McSweeney's Issue 18 on the literary discussion website Pettifog.net starting Jan 1. Our members will have access to electronic versions of the stories. I don't know if any of you subscribe to McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, but this might be a good place for you to sample their writing. Check us out if you get time.
