It has just been reported this morning that Arthur C. Clarke has passed. Though not only an author, he was truly a giant in the realm of science fiction.

Il n'y a pas de hors-texte.

I was just watching an speech of his a couple days ago from the 2001 DVD. It was old footage from right before the film's release and he looked pretty ancient at that point. I honestly didn't know that he was still around, but I appreciate all that he accomplished in the field of literature and science fiction. My theory is that the atrociousness of the 2010 film may have led to his slow demise.

He contributed so much to the entire canon of visionary literature. He was more than just some pulp writer, and I am grateful for the work he left behind.
