Yeah, I read about it over here after I left the post! I don't know why I didn't think of looking it up at the time. Roll Eyes Guess I'm still not used to the internet "knowing everything", yet. Wink

Soooo, in this game you play the "unofficial" apprentice of Vader who is trying to overthrow Sidious. Ya know, I always wondered why he never tried to take over in the 18 years between the third and fourth episodes. It's not like he didn't try to get someone to join him in overthrowing the turd in the third and fifth! It's also starting to make sense why they show him fighting stormtroopers and bringing down a Star Destroyer! Could Anakin ever do that? Bring down a Star Destroyer, I mean. That seems to be a very powerful move indeed! I've heard about Luke becoming so powerful in The Force that he could crush an AT-AT with a wave of his hand, but I don't know about the man being able to bring down a ship as big as those bastards are! Eeker Could you imagine how much more powerful Vader would be if he was whole? If his apprentice (who probably wasn't created by The Force) can pull off the crap he's doing, then Anakin woulda probably been able to take out the first friggin' Death Star with just a thought! Eeker (I dunno about the second one since it was even bigger than the first, but Yoda did mention that size doesn't matter!)

You may have mentioned it, but with my awful memory and lack of time to really just sit at the computer and read, I haven't gone back through the last few pages. However, I don't recall you typing about any extremely cool Star Wars games coming to the PS3. Not after you shattered ALL hopes of my playing Knights of the Old Republic on it! Frowner A game where you get to play as a Sith apprentice... THAT IS JUST TOO GOOD! Big Grin

As for a few other "Star Wars" related tidbits... I reeeeaaallly wanna get this! While I don't remember everything, I DO remember you mentioning "Fanboys" and here's the trailer. Looks hilarious! Check out a review over here. He agrees! Big Grin

Nice to have ya back, Fry-man! Smiler I just found something AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It looks like they're keeping the stylized look in the characters of the toons, but keeping the ships as detailed as they were in the movies! My face was stuck like this: Eeker for the entire thing! I'm talkin' my "Oh face"! Big Grin

Yes... I had to change my underpants. Red Face

Didja notice Asajj Ventress in there? I had just read her Wooki-page the other day and found that she didn't die in her duel with Anakin on Yavin IV!

Ooh, I can't wait!

There have been some fun teasers in the past few weeks. The one you can see in Cloverfield is for the new JJ Abrams "re-imagining" (not really the right word) for Star Trek XI. The new movie has a completely new cast and will come out December 25, 2008. The bad guy from Heroes will be Spock, Bones will be played by the guy from LOTOR and the Bourne Supremacy, Sulu will be played by the guy from Harold and Kumar, and Scotty will be played by that really funny guy from Hot Fuzz. Here is the full cast list on imdb Its set several years before The Original Series, probably around their Academy years.

Also, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had a teaser released a week ago or so. The movie should come out in May this year.

When I read this, I thought of the "fat one". I'm guessin' because that's how Scotty's been portrayed in EVERY parody of the movies. I actually forgot he didn't start out that way!

Looks great! I hadn't seen a trailer before now and I'm suddenly excited to see it! What is it about the Lucasfilm logo that always gets me all hot and bothered before the trailer even starts? Then when I saw Jones' silhouette put his hat on... I was sold! I was a tad apprehensive when I first heard their was gonna be another one because Ford is lookin' frail. I mean he looks so old. Just look at him! He's... OLD! He's really old! Okay, NOT that old, but not Indiana Jones worthy anymore. But it seems they're actually gonna poke fun at that fact! Kinda like how Riggs was just discovering he'd finally gotten "too old for this $#!*" in "Lethal Weapon 4"! Big Grin

Returning to Star Wars real quick, I found "Star Wars: Ewok Adventures" on DVD a few days ago! I was all, "The Fryer and I were talkin' about this a little while ago!" Big Grin It was only 3 bucks and I figured the kids would enjoy it as much as we did. Besides, IT'S A STAR WARS COLLECTIBLE! Eeker

Hey, what'd you think of that site? It's where I keep my DVD/Blu-ray collection now! It took me over 2 days to put all of my movies in there, but (as I said someplace else 'round here Wink) it was worth it!!!!!!! I can keep track of who I loan movies to WITH THE DATE THEY BORROWED IT! That'll be useful. I think one of my boys has had "Fargo" goin' on a year now! At the very least, 6 friggin' months! It also has cool statistics about who your favorite actors, directors, producers and genres are by what you own. I've decided I'm also gonna use it as a checklist so I can go through and watch EVERY movie I have until every one says WATCHED... Then start over! Smiler My collection has taken a dip because I've sold a few and gave my mother a bunch when she moved. My brother and sister "borrowed" & ruined most of her DVD library and she just bought a new HDTV with an upconverting player (she's not quite ready for the prices of Blu)! She got back home and cracked open "King Kong" only to discover the DVD was gone! The 2 of us went out to see if we could find some of her favorite movies, but many were a tad too much for her to be able to buy. So I came home and grabbed:
"King Kong"
"Apocalypto"
"Spider-Man"
"Braveheart"
"Hook"
"Imposter"
"Grumpy Old Men"
"Grumpier Old Men"
"The Mask of Zorro"
"Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl"
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"
"Pirates of the Caribean: At World's End"
"Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves"
"Romeo & Juliet" (1968)
"Backdraft"
"John Q"
"Dances with Wolves"
"Pearl Harbor"
"A Perfect World"
"The Family Man"

I've replaced the "Pirates..." and "Spider-Man" trilogies, "Apocalypto" and "Pearl Harbor" on Blu. My nephew got parts 2 and 3 of "Spider-Man" since he really wanted 'em and he already had the first. I have the extended version of "King Kong", so I don't need the theatrical. She's never seen "Imposter" or "John Q". They're 2 I think she'll enjoy. "Imposter" is a cool little sci-fi flick with "stock footage" from "Armageddon" and "Starship Troopers" and "John Q" is right up her alley. I'm sure she'll be able to sympathize with Denzel's character because hospitals had turned us away when I was at my worst too. I do believe she really wanted to take the place over and force them to work on me!

But see, the new Star Trek does NOT have any involvement with any former producers or writers previously involved with Star Trek. Rick Berman and Gene Roddenberry have both passed and all the writers are completely new. So it'll be different. The two screenwriters also penned screenplays for Transformers and Mission Impossible III. JJ Abrams is set to direct. The writers said that in some sense it is a prequel but it is also a re-vitalization (taken from wikipedia)

Hopefully, they'll remember the main themes of Star Trek (exploration and allegory). I don't want it to turn into some over glorified space battle.

By the way, Mr. Lucas needs to hurry up and release The Saga to Blu-ray. It looks terrible upconverted in my player! I tried watchin' Episode I with the kids and the actors' faces were all blurry! It was so terrible I had to stop it! If he doesn't release it this year, I don't think I'll be able to hold my annual "Star Wars-a-thon"! Eeker

I just saw something that tripped me out! R2-D2 Mailboxes! Eeker I went out to The Plaza and saw this little bugger just sittin' there in all it's geeky glory! (Is it wrong that the first thing that popped into my mind was: How do I steal that damn thing?! Big Grin) Here is the backstory of what's goin' down with 'em. I just might have to head down there on March 26th just to see all of the hoopla that will be surrounding everyone's favorite short 'n' sassy droid! There's gonna be geeks aplenty, that's fer sure! I would get one if it beeped back at you. They would be pretty hard to steal so I don't advise it. The cops would probably be pretty sympathetic, though, considering the awesomeness of Star Wars.

Monkey, remember that Fanboys movie about the kids who try to watch The Phantom Menace because their friend is dying of cancer. Well, apparently the studio doesn' like the cancer friend (its too dark) and they made them redo a lot of the scenes. So now it got delayed and who knows how good it is after the studio execs remake the film.

I dunno. The studio had its hands all over "Payback" and I love their version more than the director's cut! But I don't understand how the "cancer kid" is so edgy. I think it gives the story a heart. Honestly, who wants to watch a buncha (healthy) geeks just trying to get to a movie? I actually got to go to a special screening of Episode I weeks before it was released and went with a car crammed to bursting with Star Wars Fanboys! The most embarressing one being my boy, Corey. He was driving and had actually bought the soundtrack to the original trilogy! This probably wouldn't have been too much of a problem if he didn't have an extremely loud sound system, complete with some woofers that beat so hard it made it difficult to breathe when you sat in the backseat! That's right. A car blasting Star Wars the whole trip! Oh, yes. It was a trip. We had to drive to the next state (Kansas), to Westglen Theaters: The Biggest Theater in the Midwest! It took us about an hour to get there. That's around an hour of Star Wars theme music and Star Wars themed conversations. It was geeky!!!!!! This is pretty much the only direction I can see them going with the movie without the cancer kid and I don't think it would make for a great movie. (Of course, I don't really see this being too different. The kid probably just wouldn't talk as much as his friends do.) Then again, the trip for them is a tad longer than an hour, so there's room for some wacky adventures on the way.

Speaking of Corey, his idea of a perfect Blu-ray set of The Greatest Saga of All Time consists of each movie with uncompressed sound and EVERY special feature that pertains to each film. Then he wants a 7th bonus disc with all 6 movies on it with a "Play All" feature! He's certain they could all fit on a single Blu disc if you sacrifice the uncompressed sound and special features. That way we wouldn't have to get up to change the discs between movies! The only problem I see with this is we would still have to pop out the disc for "Clone Wars". Still, that would be only 3 times you'd have to step to your player to the 8 that you would with each disc. Sounds very expensive to me, but probably cheaper than a multi-disc changin' Blu-ray player! Wink

Speking of "Star Wars" on Blu, I heard Lucas is putting together different versions of the films once again! Adding in deleted scenes and such. I'd love to get a few of the deleted scenes put back into the movies that he had included on the Bonus Disc of the first DVD set.

GOOD GRAVY!!! Eeker I'm having a "Star Wars" birthday! Big Grin My wife just got me an "Official" Episode I teaser poster, all framed and pretty! I say "official" because it's HUGE! It dwarfs my old one by at least a foot! It actually (slightly) overlaps my other posters! I am soooo in love with this image! If you're any kind of a Star Wars fan, you can't say that the first time you saw this poster you didn't get a chill up your spine. It's after we saw the movie that we all became divided. Wasn't it?

My "Official" Star Wars buddy, Corey, stopped by real quick (it's Easter and he has a coupla step-kids) and handed me "Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy"! (It says "NOT FINAL COVER" on the picture, but it's the cover on MY book! Well, I guess my book's lightsaber is more red than violet and "STAR WARS" is spelled out with a reflective material.) This book is AWESOME! There is a rancor monster page where he's holding the Gamorrean Guard (the pig creature) and when you make the book open and (kinda) close, it looks like he's roaring! Big Grin (Yes. I'm 30 and still "play" with my collectibles. Red Face) It's too bad I gotta go down to Clinton, Mo. to my mother's place. I'd LOVE to spend the day flippin' through this thing, just unfolding pages and pulling tabs to my heart's content! Smiler

I don't have anymore room on top of my television, so I now have an exscuse to stick my Blu-ray playin' PS3 up on its side! Big Grin I'm gonna display the book with each page comepletely opened and all popped up and just turn the pages every so often. I took down my old Episode I poster and put it in the game room. I just can't throw a movie poster away! Especially one this friggin' cool!

By the way, my wife was scoffing at Corey's gift (she thought I liked it better than hers, poor thing, she should know that I treasure all of my Star Wars collectibles equally Wink) and thought that he had stuck a sticker on it that read "30th Anniversary" as a silly joke! She was shocked to learn that I was (almost) as old as the original movie (it beat me here by a few months Wink, but I "saw" it from my mother's womb Big Grin)!

Oh... Good... Gravy! Eeker That friggin' Star Wars pop-up book is freakin' crazy! I opened the center page and out came the Mos Eisley Cantina. I'M TALKIN' THE ENTIRE CANTINA!!!!!! Eeker A for real 3-D representation with Han seated in his booth, the several aliens (I'm talkin' a bunch of 'em!) surrounding the bar and Luke and Obi-Wan talking to Chewie! It even has a flippin' roof and seperate rooms! I'm trippin' out! The little bits of info it has is actually pretty detailed and very interesting stuff! If you're any kinda Star Wars fan, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!

I just got through "reading" the book and... GOOD FREAKIN' GRAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO THE LAST PAGE! Eeker

I was watching these extremely disturbing Canadian PSA's when I noticed they had "Star Wars" Public Service Announcements on YouTube! Big Grin

C-3PO says "Don't smoke"
The aliens of the cantina "don't let friends drive drunk"

And some (really) goofy ones Big Grin:
Luke wants "family time"
Vader finds "Dark Sith Lords who
