The controller has to be one of the most over looked advantages of the PS2. Good looking and well made, it makes you wince every time you see an XBox controller. It has brilliant feedback, its ergonomic and they react to the slightest movement. Brilliant Then there's the size. Ok so, XBox has better graphics, but place a PSTwo next to an XBox and laugh. Loudly. For a long time [The slim PSTwo is only just bigger than a box for a game and yet has nearly as much power as an XBox]. So it can be carried around very easily and yet it still does all the things a normal PS2 does. And finally, their's the games. Halo, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart. Pah. How about Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, God Of War, Destroy All Humans! the original GTA & Pro Evolution Soccer platform, Super Monkey Ball Deluxe [new], Brian Lara Cricket...the list goes on and on! So what if Gamecube and XBox have had other good games exclusive to that particualr platform, none have really sold that well in comparison to Halo or Mario Kart whereas PSTwo has many different games that are all remembered!
PS3, You Know You Want To

I never really wanted to respond to this question because I thought it would kind of be like another console war argument, but o well.
The ps2 has a lot more games, but how many of thoes exclusive games are you going to play? I think a majority of them were during the early years of the PS2. So..
There's another thing with the PS2, it always to seem like the "Cool Kidz" consle. It's for the teens who don't want to take gaming that seriously and be seen as a nerd or a geek, with all of it's intense tech specs that the Xbox has and everything. But they also don't want to be seen playing a kiddy cartoon character. So they pick the one in the middle.
I work at a retail store and I always ask why people want to buy the PS2, and I ask "Do you know the differnce between the three?" And usually they don't so I teach them about all three systems and let them decide. It's funny, just because everyone has the ps2 does that make it a better system? Or do people want it,because everyone else has it?
I agree with you... but at the same time PS2 has an enourmous amount of quality games available for it - far more than either other console, really, especially since it's backwards compatible.
I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

You sound very good in knowing more about the three systems.I will be happy if you can tell me more about the three games. Why you dont understand why evehryone like to buy PS2 console and why you dont like it that much?" Eric from Ghana want to know more"
I don’t own a Playstation 2. However, I would like to play a couple of games on it that I’ve seen… Ico is definitely on the top of the list. If the system ever comes down in price, I’ll buy it.
I bought an Xbox when it first came out because Playstation 2, at the time, didn’t have any games that I really wanted to play. Besides, I had the original Playstation already… with a very selective collection of games. I also adore Bungie (Halo), as I was a Macintosh freak for a long time (Marathon, Oni, Myth).
My favorite system, is the GameCube. I bought it when Wind Waker came out. Though the game didn’t meet my expectations, I don’t regret buying the system. Nothing tops the 4 player madness that the GameCube supports… Pac Mac Vs., Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Mario Party, etc.
When I want to play something that I can put down after a little while, the GameCube does it for me. When I need something a little more mature, the Xbox’s selection allows that; KOTOR, Morrowind, Splinter Cell, DOA: Extreme Beach Volleyball… er, I mean… um. ;-)
Anyway, this article explains everything I want to say and more about the gaming industry and why Sony will remain on top. It’s a very intelligent article that doesn’t stray into irrelevant areas.
The Escapist is one of my favorite sites. If you haven’t seen it before, take a peak through all the past issues. There are some great articles that you won’t find anywhere else. The magazine doesn’t focus on games… as much as opinions surrounding gaming life. Enjoy.
I like the way it can play DVDs, and the new size of the PS2 is great too. Plus it has way better games than gamecube, and online possiblities for some games are just for one console, like the game i hav which is olnie only for PS2 (Time Splitters 3).

For me it's the games. The action/adventure and RPG games tend to best best on PS2. In fact, the only game I really missed by not having the other two systems was Tales of Symphonia.

The simple fact I can plug it in, hold a controler, and waste countless hours of my life making no progress in the real world and wondering why I get so cramped up and sore after basketball. I love games, and the playstation contributes to my everyday time wasting seperation from reality.
I like the PS2 because it has great series (MGS, Rachet and Clank, etc), it has several great underrated games (Katamari Damacy, Rez, etc.) and it has a really good balance of genres of games. For example, Xbox has great shooters but a terrible selection of RPG's (other than Morrowind). Gamecube has good platform games, but no openended games (Morrowind, GTA, etc.) PS2 has a happy medium of several types of genres.
I like the PS2 for its tight controls (time tested) the great selection of games, the backwards compatibility, and the fact that it's pretty powerfull producing good graphics and playability, and although no quite as good as the Xbox (360) when it comes to online play it still put on a good show (especially considering it's free) having to pay for Xbox live really pissed me off.

I love the PS2 for the game selection (in Australia at least there are about four times as many PS2 games then for any other system) also as a female I do eventually get sick of war game after war game and I find the PS2 has far more alternatives than the other consoles but it is the controller that really sells it for me, I've played the PS2, the X-box, the Gamecube, the Megadrive (Genesis), the Mastersystem and an Atari 2600 and for a person with limited use of their hands as I have nothing is better designed than the PS2 controller.

The range of games! The only other console that has its range of games is the 360.
I have a PS3 and it also has a Blue-Ray player which the 360 hasnt, more memory (i have my whole music collection on mine) and (as far as I know) you cant buy games online on the 360!!!
Plus the fact that me and my brother have had every PS (except the PSP) and my loyalty, it makes sense for me to prefer it!
I cant do drink or drugs because I think Im alergic!
I always break out in handcuffs!!!
