I completely disagree.
I thought that FF X2 was actually alright, despite a couple of little aspects that made it a hard for some people to appreciate, like the whole “Dresssphere” and “Girl Power”
thang came off a bit full on for some people, but if you look past it, the Dresssphere system was essentially just a Job System, which I have always loved.
Realizing that FF X2 reused most of FF X, there were several things I really liked about FF X2. First off was the battle system, it was a simple, classic design, but I loved it. The flow of the active setup was awesome, and the movement and attacks of both your characters, and the enemy, felt really fluid. Another thing I also really enjoyed about the battle system was the Chain Attacks.
Second, I loved the multiple pathways in the game, as well as the game %, it made it more of a challenge, and offered different rewards for different pathways. I guess it was more a of “Love/Hate” relationship, because there were definitely times when I wanted to smash my PS2, it certainly wasn’t easy getting a 100%, even with a guide.
Over all the thing I loved most about the game was getting to see what happened to all the characters from FF X after the final defeat of Sin.
<<<Warning – Spoiler Alert>>>It was really cool how FF X2 wrapped everything up. If you follow the whistling at the end of the game, you get the “Good Ending” where it pretty much continues off from the very end of FF X when Tidus was curled up underwater. Tidus wakes up and swims to the surface of Besaid Beach where he is reunited with Yuna, which I thought was a much happier and more rewarding ending. There were a couple of things in FF XII that I thought were cool, I loved the scale of the world, and granted the graphics were damn good for a PS2 game. The loot system was kinda cool but it let me down in the end, and the Mark Hunting was cool. Despite the things in it that I liked, it’s the only FF that I didn’t enjoy enough to play more then once, and there was just so many things that frustrated me or let me down, and it’s for that reason that I rate it the worst FF I have ever played.
For all my reasons for disliking FF XII read my post
hereAs for if they will keep on making FF Games? Yes, I think they will. From what I’ve heard, Square-Enix are currently making 3 new FF titles, but I cannot find the source material right now. If I can find it I’ll post it later.
