This is my list, I haven't put too much thought into the order. Where multiple games in a series have been released I've just included my favourite.
1) Tomb Raider Legend. Yes it was too short, and some gameplay elements need work. But after following Tomb Raider for years and seeing it waste away into the abismal Angel of Darkness, it made me very happy to see Lara back at the top. I think Legend is just a sign of the great stuff to come.
2) Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon. Feel bad for putting this over Monkey Island, and it did make some mistakes (which I hope Angel of Death will overcome) but it's still the most immersive and enjoyable game I've played.
3) Escape from Monkey Island. Not quite as good as its predecessors, but I for one thought the leap into 3D was a success and it was very funny in parts.
4) Final Fantasy X. Again, not as good as some earlier games in the series but Final Fantasies always deliver grest stories and characters. The voices were a nice addition. X-2 was a good, enjoyable game but didn't have the immersive feel that Final Fantasy usually has.
5) Tony Hawks PS4. PS3 may have been the critics fave but I didn't think it added too much onto the series. The 4th game was the one that introduced free-skating and I enjoyed it a lot. THUG was still popular, but I felt that the series was beginning to lose its footing (lame pun not intended).
6) Burnout Revenge. Tought choice between Takedown and Revenge. I much prefered Takedown's soundtrack (Finger Eleven gives it big plus points) and Revenge's traffic attack mode was rubbish. But Revenge was just more fun to play, the levels were better crafted with shortcuts and being able to smash up same-direction traffic was very satisfying.
7) SSX. I'm choosing the original, the sequels never captured the same magic somehow. Probably my most played game, as I didn't stop until I had everyone as a Master (although I didn;t complete the trick books because the system was buggy).
8) Buffy - Chaos Bleeds. As a big Buffy fan this would have been here even if the game was rubbish, but it was actually pretty good. A well designed story and the vampire dusting felt as good as it looks in the show.
9) Aggressive Inline Skating. This is my 'play it because you probably haven't' choice. It was released before THPS4 but used the same free-skate system, I find this much better than THPS3. It's a vast game with lots of challenges and secrets to unlock, a must-play for Tony Hawks fans.
10) Soul Calibur II. Soul Calibur III was a worthy sequel, but this remains my fave beat-em-up. The Weapon Master mode is classic, it seems tiny, but has so many hidden stages. I enjoy the fighting much more than Tekken, big swords are great fun. I am unbeatable with Mitsurgi which makes me like the game more.

I just started gaming again, and was always a casual gamer when I do - so I'm satisfied with my purchase of the PS2 instead of the PS3. So far, I love Madden 2007 and Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith.
