LittleBigPlanet has received over 20 10/10 scores and they didn't post most of them, yet they post each and every single one of the scores under 10/10.
Isn't that funny? They did the same thing with MGS4. I might stop coming to this site.
You know what , to hell with all you people stating : "big deal" and "you are crying over a game that has an average metacritic of 95%?"
So , no it is not an important thing in our lives and no we dont care if the average goes high or low.
The thing is this. When i am coming to this site , i expect integrity on the numbers posted and i expect validity of that little number called "metascore".
So explain to me why has metacritic ignored so many 10/10 scores out of 220 MGS4 reviews and yet has every single damn 8/10 score posted?
Where is the integrity on this?Out of a total of 220(!!) MGS4 reviews there are 15 or so that gave the game a 8/10 and ALL of them every single one of them is posted here on Metacritic.
Yet the 80 or so missing perfect 10s are nowhere to be found...
Im not saying they should post every single perfect score , im just saying that it is fishy when they post every single bad score out there.
Same thing they are doing now with LBP...i mean what the hell...we are now accepting Variety's reviews and we "estimate" What the score is like.Even if Variety themselves are giving you the score , why the hell dont they post it on their own review?
What kind of bullshit is this?Im telling you the score , but im not making it public, so you go ahead and do it for me?
Is it a coincidence Fable 2 got 98/100 from the Variety "estimate"?
Either try to be fair , or seriously just tell us we should look elsewhere for a valid metascore.( i actually prefer N4g , since they publish every single score out there...)
I am sure that if LBP gets 10 scores lower than 8 , every single one of them is going to be posted here...
All the 10s it got?Nah... it doesnt matter , wait for the 8s to be published...
It is a sad day when the light is finally shown upon a site that once trusted. Sorry Metacritic, but I have been visiting this site for months and months and cannot tell you how dismayed I am to see that this is how reviews are handled here. For once I thought there was a review site that was fair and just and was an avenue to take in buying games based on trustworthy scores but I was wrong. Until this is cleared up and I read about it in the press/web, I will no longer be visiting this site. Sorry to see this happen but the ball is now in your court and I certainly hope you take the high road and fix this issue before you truly become labled a bias site for fanboy flame bait.
It has every single published review of each game with hotlinks and nothing "changed".No discriminations , no "fishy estimates" and no personnal preferences.

My sentiments exactly. After Gamestop, Gameplayer, Eurogamer, 1up, Kotaku, CNET...metacritic falls too to M$. Its amazing how well actually Sony has done this generation even after so much bias. Someone might find this claim of so many sites being biased stupid, but after reading so many articles on these sites in past three years, there is no denying that these sites are indeed biased. Only IGN to me seems still unbiased and I believe them. Even if they had given LBP an 8 I would have believed them, but none of these sites give credible reviews.
I actually prefer to read reviews that give sub 10 scores. 10/10 reviews do nothing but praise the games high points; theyre all basically the same If Im trying to decide whether or not to buy a game, odds are Im already interested and dont need to hear more hooks from reviews, Id rather know whats wrong with the game and decide if those flaws are too big for me to enjoy the game
Metacritic only posts reviews from certain sites, not every single site that reviews games, only the sites who's reviews they consider reputable. If you'll also note they do the "estimating game" with many film, tv and music reviews as well.
Aside: Seriously incogneato, you haven't heard of Variety? It's a magazine that has been published since 1905, I'm not saying it's a good magazine I'm just saying its been around and its not some site no one has ever heard of.
While you guys can whine about the lower ratings and such getting posted, it tends to be those reviews that don't give 10/10s that provide the best criticism, as opposed to the unabashed loving of a game that will occasionally be given in 10/10 reviews. Metacritic tries to focus on the quality of reviews, not the bias of any given reviewer towards certain games when selecting which review sites to provide reviews from. It is kind of funny though that you think the game editor is out to get certain games, reminds me of truthers in many ways.
^then why wont they edit the updated scores for SOCOM? sites are reviewing the game again when the problems with it are fixed. its as simple as editing a 2 digit number, but they dont.
yet theyll go to great lengths to contact variety for their review score and calculate a review score when one doesnt exist
btw thanks for your post it was most unbiased, level headed, and informative.
I'm not too sure about the validity of this argument as I don't pay too much attention to this kind of thing, but if it's true than it's appalling.
Just one point which should be made clear. Metacritic is very selective over it's sources which it uses to determine the metascore, and some sites which may have given LBP a 10, such as talkingaboutgames have not had any other reviews featured on the site. It's pretty much the same publications every time.

Ans its happening again. I understand that Metacritic uses some sites only in their score, but why is it always so that PS3 games have higher meta score on n4g (which BTW, counts every review) than here and Xbox360 games always have higher meta score here. Look at this- Resistance 2 has a score of 90 here, while 9.3 at n4g (once again, n4g has way many reviews counted). And now Gears 2 has 96 score here and 9.2 at n4g. Why so?
Because this site is fucking biased. And seriously if no1 believes this BY NOW , then to hell with you people , i guess it is a coincidence that any other meta score out there ,of any ps3 game is higher than the one listed in metacritic...
It is a coincidence that we use Variety which is not even publishing a score so that LBP can get an "8".
It is a coincidence that EVERY SINGLE 8/10 score out of 220 MGS4 reviews is listed in metacritic , but around 60 perfect scores arent.
It is a coincidence that while gears 2 has received many 8/10 reviews NOT EVEN ONE OF THEM is listed in metacritic...
It is a coincidence that several perfect scores for Resistance 2 arent listed here...in fact NOT EVEN ONE OF THEM IS so far...
Also it is a coincidence that metacritic is ignoring multiplatform games reviews and lists them ONLY on 360 , so that the PS3 version gets a lower score.Check Dead Space as a recent example, where reviews that include both versions are not listed for ps3 , but of course they are for 360...
Yep its all a coincidense.
To hell with you , whoever you are, who runs this business. You are pathetic. The least you can do is respect people and not insult their intelligence...The least you could do is list all the reviews for both platforms , even if your reviewers selections are already BIASED.
