I have but one question: Why is the user score for Killzone 2 so low? Is there something wrong with the beta?

I'd wager a guess that most of the low scores are from console fanboys who've never even touched the game.

that could be true, that's what happened to Resistance 2 and Gears 2. If you look at the beta reviews Draperc by others then you'll quickly realize that KZ2 has some of the most innovative gameplay mechanics (classes) and amazing graphics - and that's no fanboy comment, its just what everyone knows.

maybe the hype is too high?...
or maybe this game is the last opportunity for ps3's world domination?..
not only lives with the name...

I was on the KZ2 Beta... and seriously this game is the nadz, its amazing.

The R2 Beta came in towards the end of the KZ2 Beta.. so I had a chance to play them against each other, and KZ2 made R2 feel like a skating rink, a light load of a game, like a poor mans UT3. But I have R2, and you forget about these things and love it for the game that it is.. R2 is great!! BUT, KZ2 is sooo much better, well from a multiplayer side of things anyway.

KZ2 just felt so solid, so well made.. and that was only the Beta, let alone the final multiplayer, as we all know the single player mode is always much better than online.

Just for the Beta alone I would of scored a user score of 9...

The low user scores here are because of the hate that this game will generate, it will stir up a hell of a lot of bias and BS... just because its awesome.

^^^^^^^^Wut HareofDoom said!!

Why is an 'average user review' score even posted here? The game is not released yet, and the metacritic TOS and auto-generated messeges provide the following rule: 'user reviews cannot be submitted for unrealeased games'. So why is there even a score in that box?

I love metacritic but this needs to be fixed. Influencing end user decisions based on fabricated data undermines the very idea of credible reviews. It would be fair and adviseable to remove that 'user score' completely, or else perhaps open it up to fabricated user reviews from all of us.

Speaking of which, there is no ME Games review featured on their site, so i don't know where that score (97) originates from.

User scores shouldn't be allowed until the person puts a valid comment on why it is that score

user reviews shouldn't be aloud(or taken into consideration) for any game or item until the product is launched. Its just Fanboy hate in its lowest form. Just because I don't like a game. It doesn't make me go out at troll forums just to hate on it. whether its on the PS3 or 360.

well there was a beta for the multiplayer, and alot of people played in it. that's where all the user scores prior to official release were coming from.

Same reason great movies like Godfather or Casablanca get 1's and 2's on IMDB. Fanboys exist for and against all systems, movies, etc... and they'll low-ball the competition just to make thier favorite look better.

Not saying this game is good or bad, I haven't played it yet and the jury is still out, but I highly doubt it's that bad... I'm guessing the earlier poster was right... some XBOX fanboys likely got worked up and wanted to pre-emtively lower the score of the game before it's even hit the shelves.

so is anybody slightly annoyed it's not getting tons of glowing praise? all i'm hearing is 'generic this' or 'generic that'; coupled with 'lame story' and 'horrible irredeemable AI". now its scores are lower than freakin halo 3's.

all true.

sounds to me like people are having problems coming to terms with the fact there brand-new-shiny-thing they waited years for "could" be a sack of s***.

you only need look at the review for resistance 2 to know these reviewers have made a living out of deception and lying. if you believe anything else it's down to you, but one of those comments above about "well known critics" saying it's good... i mean if they told you that sticking your "piece" in a George foreman grill was good, would you do it? or more to the point would you defend such a thing without even having done it yourself? (slightly abstract but run with it)

I just don't understand how people can swallow the review scores online or out of mags especially after said sources track record with dubious review scores...

well that and the fact those retards don't play more than the first 2 hours of a game...their opinions are worth less to me than the average, uneducated, unemployed gamer (I know a few) that has an honest opinion on title and isn't being "paid" for his or her "so-called opinion"

not trolling, well maybe a little. I'm just curious how people think the review scores compare to thier own scores after purchase.

hmm. well at this point i don't really give a crap for the real reviews. 93% is very decent for a score composite, to me. i think the real deal now will be when the game comes out, then we can get real reviews or at least a real feel for the game. ben did you download the demo yet?

I don't think all the official reviewers are on the take, no?

Anyhow, take it for what it is, I wouldn't agonize over the overall score too much. It's above 90, that's what counts.

If you played the demo, and aren't suffering from this apparent "controller lag" bs problem some isolated users have, you'll know that the title's almost certainly going to be insanely fun. Feb-March is going to be great!

right, the composite scores usually don't bother me, but i mean, i've been following up on this game since the 'infamous' trailer, and freakin a, it's like watching some people make fun of your baby when killzone 2 gets low scores. haha bad analogy.
but as of now its getting lower scores than halo 3, and that really irks me. i've had more fun with the killzone 2 demo and beta than i have had with the online halo 3 modes in a full year.
