So earlier in the week, Killzone 2 was at a 95 rating with 33 reviews.
Today, it's at a 93 with 36 reviews. So the only reviews that have been added in that time were the 90 from GameDaily, 87 from CVG, and 80 from TVG.
However in that same time frame, we have the 100 from 1up, 100 from X-play, 96 from PlayTM, and 96 from Jolt. Where are these reviews? Why haven't they been added yet. Why do the 3 lowest scores get added immediately, yet these marks are still not here?
I've already dispatched an email to Mr. Doyle, so please don't come into my thread telling me what to do. I want answers, not misdirection.
If Mr. Doyle has can be honest for 1 second of his life, perhaps he could comment publicly about why these 4 reviews are missing and when he plans on putting them up. Unless he took a vacation day from yesterday morning until tomorrow, I really don't see there being a valid excuse for this.
He has 1 job on this site and fails consistently. That's about the only consistent thing he does.

Well Metacritic interpreted the B+ that Resistance 2 got from 1up as an 83, which clearly is wrong if an A/A+ is a 10.
This site is the most inconsistent site I have ever seen, and it's because there is only 1 game editor. Each system should have it's own editor that tracks score and corrects errors.
Marc Doyle is consistently inconsistent, for example, in a recent email he stated this to me:
Date: Tuesday, February 3, 2009 5:32 PM From: Marc Doyle <marc@metacritic.com> Add to Addresses Block Sender To: **********.net <************.net> Add to Addresses Subject: Re: :: :: metacritic: sent via site (gameseditor) Size: 6 KB
1up was just added, playTM is also known as "ferrago", jolt's reviews are the same as playTM's and X-play is the same as G4 TV.
Marc
But if you look at all the top ps3 games recently, like Resistance 2, Uncharted, MGS4, and LBP, all those games (and more) all got scores from all 3 of those sites.
Heck, MGS4 got 3 different 80's, from Ferrago, Jolt, and PlayTM. But now that Killzone 2 would benefit from such scores, now suddenly "they are all the same".
I am still waiting comment from Marc on this blatant double standard that somehow just went into effect on this site.

I was trying to do the same thing with MGS4 back in the days , and the answers i got in the end were ridiculous to say the least.
I've lost all hope for integrity when it comes to this site.No matter your perfectly logical arguments and suggestions nothing , i repeat NOTHING will change.
They clearly operate in a weird , irrational and quite biased way.The mistakes , the excuses are just LAME.
you guys are in for a shock if your buying this 100 rating thing, this ain't the killer app we've been waiting for..... least not from the demo which I found to be no better than area51 or something similar...
take GT's review of GTA4 that came in at a whopping 9.8 outta 10, personally I thought it was about a 7.5 due to technical issues, and pacing within the game (and that fat f*** of a cousin but that's a different matter entirely)
what I'm saying is how can you trust the review's? and more to the point how can you trust the metacritic scores if every review on the internet is sugar-coated to avoid offending the companies in question?
I think in time everyone will see what this one's about, shame sony are gonna make so much cash outta such a mediocre title...?
Originally posted by oh! enoch.: are you guys really wanting to change 1up's 100 to a 95? really? well honest or not, i like it the way it is.
and who cares, technically g4 tv IS xplay anyways.
Well its only fair.
hmm. you astound me holmes. now ask me if i care. and benny the demo was pretty fun, i thought alot of FPS's in the future can go in that direction. but YES, gta4 had a host of issues. bad framerate, just from the sheer size of the universe i suppose.

That is your personnal opinion , not a fact , nor every1 agrees with it.Dont misunderstand me i respect your view , but for me comparing KZ2 with area 51 is at least "naive".
I found the demo amazing , i was in the BETA too and i know this is the ONLY fps that i was hooked on when it comes down to the multiplayer aspect of it.
Yes i played cod4 , and utiii and i found both of these way too fast and unrealistic for my liking. Also both these games are not as tactical as i want them to be.
Now KZ2 was just perfect for me.Area51 is a total garbage so i dont know what was wrong with you and kz2 , but thankl God that most people dissagree with you.
So I saw this topic on our home page and thought I'd chime in. The problem with running a site like this is that there are so many changes among the sites I track, that if you don't follow them closely (like I do) you miss stuff.
I'll address of few items. You may or many not agree with our conversion of letter grades to numbers, but we've been doing it the same way since January of 2001, when we launched. We convert A and A+ to 100, C to 50, and F and F- to Zero. (With B at 75 and D at 25). I repeat, every letter grade review is treated exactly the same way.
As of about 2 weeks ago, the publication once known as Jolt Online UK was purchased by Ferrago, a company which has been running another website called Play.tm for years. (In fact, Play.tm used to be called "Ferrago", and we continued to call it Ferrago up until this week when we changed it to Play.tm). So yes, for MGS4, you will see one score from Jolt and one score for Ferrago/Play.tm. But for new games moving forward, Jolt's reviews and Play.tm's reviews are identical, so I stopped tracking Jolt - can't post the same review twice.
Also, we had that X-Play review up just about 5 minutes after they posted it. We refer to that site as G4 TV, which is exactly how their editor-in-chief asked me to refer to it.
If you have any more questions about this stuff, feel free to email me. I answer every one. And don't get nervous if a review is posted on some site that I track and I don't get to it for a while. Metacritic Games is one person, and I check every publication I track about once a day - but I do the more active sites a bit more often. If you see a posted review that I'm missing, hit me with an email and a link to that review and I'll post it. I have no problem with that. I want to be as up-to-date as possible.
And I'll repeat this again. I don't own any current gen or last gen systems - I have no horse in this fanboy competition. I personally think that if you have a PS3, you WANT the 360 and/or Wii to succeed which will force Sony to respond with better games and vice versa. You shouldn't look at as a zero-sum game. More competitors in the space means competition which leads to better products. That's one dude's (my) opinion. Take it or leave it. Point is: I couldn't care less what game gets the high score. My interest is in doing the best I can to educate our users on the critical consensus among reliable critics before buying or renting what have become rather expenses pieces of entertainment.
Best,
Marc Doyle

Thank you for addressing these issues, in measure and tone. It's a refreshing change, surely.
The only problem I have with your comments is this: if Ferrago has been running PlayTM for years, then why do both of these sites appear under a lot of games? I understand that up until recently, Jolt was a separate entity, but if PlayTM and Ferrago have been the same for some time, then why not just 1 review from Ferrago/PlayTM?
So, for example, MGS4 got 8 from Ferrago and 8 from PlayTM and 8 from Jolt. Jolt was separate at the time. But if Ferrago has owned PlayTM for years, why 2 separate scores?
What say you?

^^ well they have been doing the exact same thing with almost every single PS3 exclusive games.
Look at MGS4 , look at resistance 2 , look at god of war etc etc etc
It really is quite pathetic to say the least that edge is given review codes from Sony...
I mean ok KZ2 is not a perfect game , but when there are 43 reviewers that think the game is worth at least an 8/10 (actually only 2 out of 43 reviewers rated it below 9/10) then , damn it , 7/10 seems rather EXTREMELY harsh and may i add biased...
Also dont forget that according to edge halo 3 is 10/10 and pretty much every 360 game is awesome , while ps3 sux.Yeah i guess it is one of the retarded reasons that propagate the argument "PS3 haz no gamez!"
Well no matter , let them deduct a point from every ps3 exclusive. To my eyes their opinion is ignored. When 99% of the reviewers rate a game between 9/10 and 10/10 ,and you are giving it a 7/10 something is clearly wrong...
Some of you guys seem to need to chill out, concocting conspiracy theories about the bias of edge magazine and moaning about very mild inconsistencies or one or two missed reviews. come on guys. I'm sure, if you looked, you would find equivalent errors for other platforms, and certainly high review scores for PS games from Edge bloody Magazine.
Edge have always been tough markers, on EVERYTHING. pointing to one xbox game (Halo) is not enough to make a point. Anyone who has picked that magazine up knows that they are tough markers. I think it's great - it's nice to have something a bit more critical on the go.
You people need to chill out, badly. When it gets to the stage that you are creating conspiracy theories about biased marikng systems, you really need to just recognise that it is you who is biased, and it is you who is taking one side and fighting for the recognition of one console over all the others.
The PS3 has had a great run of games lately, and all have gotten widespread recognition and praise.
Edge gave Little Big Planet 10/10. Why? Because it's a great game. So maybe, just maybe, one or two sites don't think Killzone 2 is worthy of 9/10 or more. If you can't live with that, you may have an issue. seriously.
