I've got people constantly asking me whether they should get the current "FIFA" soccer game (by Electronic Arts, with full licenses, etc.) or the new "Pro Evolution Soccer" game, other wise known as "Winning Eleven" soccer (by Konami, without licenses, but with arguably more sophisticated/refined gameplay).

I'd like to hear from some of you which series you prefer and WHY!

as of right now I'd say Winning Eleven 7 is my favorite soccer game. if you've ever actually played on a team or you are an avid fan of the sport, you'll appreciate the fantastic deep, realistic gameplay of WE7.

on the other hand... if your only desire is to play a fun video game, FIFA is getting better every year. it is still more of an arcade style experience but 2005 should be well worth a rental.

bottom line: if you take your soccer or "football"(yes I am an American) seriously you will fall in love with WE7. if you are in search for some cheap thrills to hold you over until the next Madden game comes out, FIFA fits the bill.

I'm deciding whether to go with FIFA or Winning Eleven. What are the pros/cons of each?

I think that FIFA is the most top notch of the footballing games but clearly that is just a matter of my opinion i can't decide what everyone should buy because they particularly may not like it so i say buy whichever you feel is what you like because you should be able to take the game back...

pro evo is my favourite because of its realism but fifa is a great game to just pick up and play
