Why hasn't Metacritic put up G4 TV's review for Infamous yet?

It received a 5/5.

I guess im wondering if these are all e-peen contests. inFAMOUS is one of the best games I've played on any of the next gen consoles. If a high 80's score prevents someone from getting it - I say good, they are too much of an elitist d-bag to have the honor of playing such a great game.

I own the big 3 plus a high end PC - inFAMOUS is at least on par with any sandbox game out.

i suppose the real question is do you trust a 90+ score to be an honest score, even 3 or 6 months later ?

'cause some of the reviews are so hilariously false, they barely get past the fawning praise and surprise at it being so much fun.

i'd much read a review after the euphoria has worn off, i.e. GTA4, far cry 2, i.e. look at the list of negatives for far cry 2, and then look at the user reviews of the game.

i don't consider an 80+ to be bad, i just look for the negatives, to see if it makes the game unplayable after a few hours.

I agree that we get too caught up in these scores, but really when I use Metacritic, I am scanning for the reviewers that I recognize and trust (i.e. Game Informer, IGN, 1UP(EGM), & Gamespot). There's generally a consensus in most reviews about the high points and drawbacks about a game. Taken together, this gives a pretty good picture of what to expect, but you never really know until you play the game yourself.
So, to anyone still sitting on the fence about this game, hear this: Go Buy InFamous, NOW!

I remember the last time I was so excited about a game that got average scores was Assassin's Creed. That game was so engaging, it turned me off of video game reviews for awhile. I actually discontinued my mail subscription for EGM, because their editor (at the time- he later quit for reasons of stupidity) reviewed the game with like, a 4.5 out of 10! Idiot!
