i think they should do a FF7 remake for the PS3... they could do a hell of a lot better on the graphics and the spelling lol.... not only that they would sell the FF7 remake so fast and make loads of money on it... FF7 was like the best game out there when it was made if they just do a remake FF7 fans will buy it as fast as they can...

The game is still awesome in its original form but after what I have seen in Crisis Core I want to see FFVII re-created with extras included. BUT don't change the core story of the game at all.
Heroes get remembered, but Legends never die.

The game was praised for being a revolution AT THAT POINT IN TIME. Now, looking bad, FF7 is your linear, bog-standard RPG with a few enticing elements, such as the story. If Square were to re-do the game, obviously, it still wouldn't get the same credit that it did get when previously released back on PSOne, hence why there will never be a remake.

You guys do know that they are thinking of redoing FF7... ive seen a teaser for it... it may not get as much credit like it did when FF7 came out for PS1... the game is awesome in the original form one of me fav. games maybe my fav. game but haveing a remake of the poor graphics and spelling... oh and make the credit card at the start of the game work in the remake would be cool.... and yea never change the story line of the game just make it look better and if they made it for like PS3 or the 360 they would make them so much money cause those are the systems that are now being played not the PS1

What you saw was with almost a complete certainty, not a teaser. What you saw was likely the "technical demo" that was shown before the Playstation 3's launch. A technical demo that has yet to get released to the public I might add. It just screams of "Multiple Playstations" or some manner of rendering that the PS3 isn't actually capable of pulling off.
So yes. Very likely the old technical demo, and definitely not a teaser. If it was a teaser, it'd be widespread across the internet by now. And they aren't thinking of doing it. Square continues to deny any claim that this is the case.
this is a huge project that square enix is just not prepared to undertake. If you havn't noticed, games like Last remnant and ffXIII and Versus are on their minds right now. If we see a FFVII remake, it'll be far from now. It won't be a completely perfect copy either - some things are going to HAVE to change, because just so many reviewers are expecting new things out of rpgs these days. Edit: but it would be a really good business choice - right now enix has been sucking major

While Final Fantasy VII would probably do quite well sales-wise if it were remade, I would hope to all that is Holy that it never will be. True, a remake would give the developers time to fix all the things in the game that needed fixing, it would also likely create a new generation of insufferable fanboys and fangirls who will believe the game to be the Lord & Savior, and its current rabid-fans will consider a remake to be the Second Coming of their God.

That's really a short-sided view of this. They're not "fixing" it cause it's "broken" they're remaking it to give the proper feel to the game. I'm a massive FF7 fan, since it was my first FF game and RPG game, but even I can't deny the horrific graphics to that game. There's millions of new fans that's just been brought to the FF7 series based off FF7 Advent Children movie and Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core, but wouldn't touch the original due to the piss poor graphics and no voice overs. Are you suggesting let them suffer with playing a "crappy" game by today standards? I wouldn't. It'd be stupid.

It never is meant to be the same, all it is is tweak the horrific graphics of FF7 and other things that really put off many. See, the thing is, FF8 is still replayed to this day cause unlike FF7, the graphics isn't piss poor. Having voice overs would actually fix the poor translation/word errors on the other game. Sure it'll never match the spark, but there's many reasons for remaking an old game like FF7. SE has already remade games like FF4, FF1,2,3..etc.

Incorrect my friend, SE has actually did the opposite. Both Nomura and Kitase both showed their great interest in bringing the old crew to do a remake of FF7 but stated they couldn't right now, which was stated last year, cause they're off doing different projects. I think the 6th year of PS3 life Cycle we'll see a true FF7 remake finished and completed. Lets not also forget about SE beating around the bush while toying the fanbase with FF7 this and that, which includes making statements like "The compilation of FF7 isn't over just yet..." Which kinda proves that a Remake is definitely bound to happen and to my dismay a sequel to Dirge of Cerberus. ;(
