I have been playing Disgaea: Hour of Darkness by the above company recently, and loving it. Has anyone else played any of NI's short list of games?

Phanton Brave
La Pucelle: Tactics
Makai Kingdom
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana

All are strategy RPGs (Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem) excpet Atelier Iris, which is turn based.

AI:EM is only about 2 months old, but I haven't seen it at my local video game store at all. If I do I think I'll have to pick it up just in case I never see it again (much like Disgaea has become quite rare).

I've only played Disgaea as of yet, but as much as I'm liking it I might have to look into some of the others, especially if I hear more good things about them from the wonderful users here at the Metacritic Forums.

Hey I wish I saw this umm topic earlier. The Nippon Ichi games are my favorite. I have all of them as listed above. Disgaea is still my favorite because it so wierd and funny. I think all of them are good though even though I've only played Disgaea, La Pucell, and a bit of Phantom Brave. But I doubt that you could go wrong with playing the others. I am a huge tactics fan eg.(advanced wars, all the FF tactics games-the whole 2 of them, Fire Emblem.)

Disgaea is good, but I haven't played any of the others, not least because niche video games don't tend to be released in Australia (and if they are, with very limited availablity).

I'm also wondering which one I should try to track down next. Hopefully one that's reasonably simple, without any insane level caps and the like. Help me out here.

I would go for Stella Deus if I were you. I know that it isn't actually Nippon Ichi Software but its just like it and is as good as Disgaea I'd say. If you don't wanna get that then get Phantom Brave. I haven't played Makai Kingdom or Atelier Iris yet though so I can't give you advice on those. If someone has though I would like to hear how it is.
