I feel that Resident Evil is the second best survival horror series, right next to Silent Hill. My favorite is the original Resident Evil, because i find this one to have the biggest scare factor. So, which one do you like best and why?

Probably 1 for the nostalgia(I can remember vividly my brothers finishing it), but 1 to 4 are all pretty awesome.

I love 2, wish that'd get the makeover treatment.

REmake on the Gamecube is about as good as it gets as far as scary though - makes the original look like a slumber party for tweens IMO.

resident evil 3 was awesome but 4 was something else out of this world but i say anyone looking to start the series is better off with three coz thats when the greatest villain in residet evil history makes its debut.The NEMISIS "STARRRRRRRS!" oh and i guess silent hill ite.

I loved RE2, but after playing 4 it's painful to go back and play the others. What I'd love to see is another Parasite Eve game using a similar engine. For the Wii.

Also would love to see RE2 get a remake, it desperately needs it.

I think I'm in the same boat as many others. 4 is the pinnacle of the series (so far), followed closely by 2. I enjoyed the first as well, but can take or leave the rest.

I had the first Resident Evil on the PS1. For some reason I've never enjoyed the games.

If you haven't played it, you should really play 4. The gameplay is really nothing like the rest of the series, and is more a 3rd person shooter than what you would typically associate with the survival horror genre. It really is a spectacular game.
