Im not sure if this rings a bell to anyone, but Guerrilla Games and SCEE have been making a FPS for the PS2 for some time now. It has been called the "Halo Killer" because it sorta resembles Halo, but it really isnt like Halo at all. It actually reminds you of Call of Duty combined with Rainbow Six, which works really well. The game is very deep, in total of 26 levels in all. There are about 30+ weapons in all. Also, there is 4 playable characters, each with their own story, and they also have their own skills with different guns and weapons. The game also has a very emotional and epic experience to it. If you are a FPS fan, this is one to definitly check out! I just wanna know what other people think about this game. And also this game is very, very gory!
I don't think so,KILLZONE would have to be something stunningly awesome to beat Halo, and you should be comparing it to Halo 2 not Halo 1,Halo 2 will be the greatest FPS of all time.

After Fable and Doom 3, all bets are off in terms of massive hype and anticipation for franchise games. Wait until you get the game in your filthy little hands before you jump on or of the bandwagons.
Death to Videodrome... long live the new flesh!

I just saw a preview on X play on G4TV, it looks pretty good. I just think that the PS2 has enough FPS, really how many first-person shooters does one need. I have a couple Red faction, James Bond, and various others but I doubt that Killzone will be anything special. There is no way that is will be a "Halo Killer"

dude saying Kill Zone is the halo killer is like comparing DDR and Karoke Revolution, same principle different idea. Kill Zone is squad based and scripted like MOH and Call of Duty, Halo is partly open ended and you can do whatever you want as long as you complete the main objective. Either way Kill Zone multiplayer Online will kick ass.
The first review is up, and OFF PSX Magazine gives it an 80 for a very specific reason... They specifically say that it's NOT a Halo Killer... And you have to consider the source here.

Exactly! IMHO, OPM gets paid for their reviews. ;] Their mag, scores, and [lack of] website tell the whole story. But I have to admit, that "MGS3:SE" demo [and a lil "RnC:Arsenal"] was AWESOME! I bet MGS3:SE gets a 9 from OPM! Poor Killzone...

This game looks really impressive iv played a demo of it and you can play as 3 of the 4 aparently avalible characters and they own each have their varaity of weapons and one has this huge machine gun type weapon that you can actully feel the weight of carrying it around you sway side to side more and walk slower this made me feel very powerful lol
as for the level in the demo well it isnt massive but its big enough to allow lots of duck and cover stratagys and lots of places to ambush your enemies the building are very rainbow six like and the graphics are awesome i for one have pre-orderd this game already halo beater or not this game is gonna make a huge impact on release
one more thing id like to ask: does anyone know if this game is 2 player coop? i dont mean online i mean offline iv herd its 2 players but im un-sure of wether it is 2 player coop in the main game because well that would own!!!
I think that Killzone was an amazing game and i think it does beat Halo. I don't see what is so amazing about Halo and if ur looking at console games...yes....Halo is best seller. But if you look at all videogames, counterstrike has to be the leading game and has been leading for like 10 years.

ok halo and halo 2 i have 2 say are better then killzone but killzone 2 looks a lot more amazing game then halo could ever make, on the other hand killzone also has a bit better multiplayer and a more destructable environment. next it will have 2 compete with gears of war(looks fucking amazing.) but u guys(and girls if any comented this) need 2 start palying amazing games liek ghost recon, rainbow six, splinter cell and all those tom clancy games. I have x-box and ps2 so no im not bias towards any way.

Killzone has lots of things to love, but the halo multiplayer experience is so much better. Forgetting graphics and storyline, the controls on halo are just so tight.
The jumping, melee attacks, array weapons and types of games just make Halo incredible. The games are fast, brutal, and sometimes very creatively played by gamers.
Killzone's controls are less tight. Running is a chore, having to depress the analog still while pushed forward. The lack of triggers makes throwing grenades more time consuming, and not having melee attack is dissapointing. In halo, you can club your enemy after running out of ammo. Also, why is there no jump feature in Killzone? What's better than jumping off a small bridge or walkway, unloading rounds into your enemy? Not much. Playing Halo FEELS much more visceral.
Deciding whether or not Killzone or Halo really comes down to whats important to you. If story, presentation and sound effects are your thing, killzone could be your game.
On the other hand if music and gameplay PLUS nice graphics are your thing, then HALO is the king. No doubt about it.
Killzone is a great first attempt. I think the designers are going to make an excellent sequal, but then again so is Bungie. Those folks at Guerilla Games are definitely gonna have to bring their A Game.
Killzone is amazing and Halo sucks. I say this because Halo2 especially is inconsistent crap to me...especially with the sword and it is a game that whenever friends play...somehow they get in arguements...killzone is always fun for me and it takes actual skill cuz it is realistic, not fake where u can jump and snipe at the same time!!!

Yeah... Killzone was much better than Halo/Halo 2 even though:
- the game consistently got worse reviews than Halo - multiplayer was better in Halo - framerate was better in Halo - maps were larger in Halo - graphic effects were better (considering framerate) in Halo - singleplayer was much better in Halo - you can ride vehicles in Halo - the online services are much more complete in Halo
Oh, wait... I change my position. Halo/Halo 2 WAS much better than Killzone.
what an awful name..........HALO KILLER!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA................. Sorry......rather funny.
Killzone is a pretty good game, but it falls with several other FPS games in the fate of not being original or innovative in any way. While games like Halo go outside of the box and use great ideas to make games better, Killzone is basically another DOOM with different people. After playing it for a while, it's the same as several other FPS games (by the way, DOOM is severly overrated, long live Half-life and Halo).
