C'mon now, be serious. You can't compare Halo to Socom. They're totally different kinds of games.

Don't get me wrong socom is good, but the first game was flawed, the 2nd was better, and well the 3rd is....BOOOOYOW....it's badass. But SOCOM is no FPS and it certaintly can't compete with HALO, not by a long shot.

Now, you COULD compare SOCOM and Ghost Recon. THe latest Recon for the X360 is sexy...ouch!

Anyone who thinks Halo is better than Killzone is smoking some heavy stuff. Killzone has a better storyline, funner gameplay, and more polished textures. After you beat Halo's single-player campaign there is nothing to do but play it over and over, however, in Killzone you can play Battlefields mode after beating the single-player campaign. So what you can't dual wield weapons in Killzone, nearly every weapon has two different functions. You can also "cook" your grenades in Killzone to be more accurate when throwing them. Also, Killzone and Halo have nothing in common but each being a first person shooter to all those who think Killzone is a clone of Halo. Each game has excellent multiplayer but KILLZONE IS A FAR SUPERIOR GAME.

Hahaha Big Grin

I personally think Killzone is better too...

Question: Are they making Killzone 2 for PlayStation 3? I hope they are.

They are actually making Killzone 2 for the PS3 and I can't wait until it's launch. I've seen a few screenshots and some gameplay on G4 and it looks amazing. I've been watching G4's E3 coverage just to see Killzone 2 (and MGS4).

No doubt in my mind, Killzone 2 for the PS3 will be the game to have. With the superior hardware of the PS3 compared to the Xbox360 or the Wii the other consoles will just fall to the wayside. I hope the orginal Killzone will play better on the PS3 as do the Halo series games play better on the Xbox360 vs the Orginal Xbox.

all games are a matter of personal choice of which is better or which is more fun to play. Killzone does have its glitches since it is rendered at 1280x1024 vs halo 640x480. Thats why killzone look so much more sweeter than halo 1 or 2 period. If you cant unstand ths then get off of billy gates lap and do some reading. As for story line, gameplay, music, graphics and multiplayer, killzone wins hands down for all EXCEPT for the multiplayer aspect of the game. I have all three and played each one to the end. I just cant wait to play killzone 2 on the PS3 and would like to see if the original killzone will play any better when I pop into my PS3

I like Killzone better also because the storyline is actually not a bunch of shit about aliens, and the one-player game is actually pretty good, and Halo's one-player is a stupid bunch of shit. I think Killzone 2 for PS3 is also gonna kick Halo 3's ass too.

Killzone is a decent game, but the game is just like any other generic shooter. There's nothing really new or exciting Killzone offers when it comes to being original.

Halo, however, was the first FPS, in my opinion, to use extremely intelligent AI. How? Well, for example: If you're fighting a group of Grunts, one of the easiest enemies in the game, instead of immediatly running up and shooting, one will attempt to throw a plasma grenade at you, while the others charge up their weapons and fire. This shows that even the easiest enemies have some strategy into defeating their enemies.

Halo 2 used the idea of playing two different characters to make their game more original. This gave the player a different experience in gameplay, due to the different weapons, features and levels. Also, when they created levels, they went outside of the box. For example, one of the levels took place at the Setinel Headquaters. Since the Setinels fly, they don't need ground for travel, which makes moving much more difficult for the player, but is still a plus because it allows the player to explore in a new environment.

Also, Halo/Halo 2 multiplayer is alot better.

Killzone is just another generic shooter, and that's why it's inferior to the Halo series.

Thank you, BassPimp. Also, Halo: Combat Evolved for the PC is also incredible. Sure, there's no co-op mode, but you get online play for free. You can also mod levels for a great experience. Make sure to get it. It's only $20.

I have to admit that the A.I. in these games where not to good when you compare it now to the next generation consoles A.I like Call of Duty 2 for the xbox360....now thats what I call great A.I. As for Halo for the PC for $20.00...it is not worth it. It has so many issues that I had a hard time getting it to run right on my computer (AMD 3200, Nvidia 6600, 1 gig of Ram). Halo works better on the Xbox than on PCs but you do not get the Multiplayer with it on the Xbox. Not to worry since it really lagged anyways. To get a decent "Halo" multiplayer feel for the PC, there is a "Halo Mod" for Unreal 2004 that works much better than Halo PC but you have to have UT2004 for it to work.

As for the next release of these games (Killzone 2, Halo 3) it will be a matter of opinion again but there will be one huge difference this time. Sony will have the more power system this time. (Over 2 teraflops vs the xbox360 1.2 teraflops). Hopefully Sony can come through this time with this great title since we all know that Halo 3 will be awesome for the Xbox360.

I don't know. When I played Call of Duty 2, I really didn't see much strategy with the enemies. I just saw them...shoot, mostly at me, no less. Few of them actually used a grenade or use their melee attack. I still find the A.I. quite inferior to the enemies in Halo.

And about Halo for PC. I don't have a gaming computer, it's just a regular PC (an early 2003 model), with no upgrades since we had it, and it works great.

The A.I. of the COD2 was rated as one of the best. This applies to fellow team mates as well as enemies. The original Halo PC verison that I played ( I think it only had the 1.04 patch) was still shitty but I know that Bungie released a few more updated patches that might have made a difference.

For myself the AI of Halo or Halo 2 was mediocore at best. I figured out the patterns of the AI only after a few hours of gameplay. Nothing they did really surprised me after that. Once you begin to see and discover the "patterns" of the AI, it becomes easy to figure out the next move.

I already know some of their strategy, too. But when you think you know them, that's often when you're caught by suprise. I was only playing Halo 2 on normal mode, I was fighting the aliens, and I saw a couple of grunts run away. I didn't bother and just continued to take care of the rest. However, when it came to the last Elite, one grunt got a plasma grenade on me and the others charged up their pistols and shot. I that's not intelligent A.I., I don't know what it is. And since you used game magazines to back up your point that CoD2 had good A.I., read all of the other magazines when they rate Halo/Halo 2. EGM, probably the most reliable game magazine on the market today, claimed that Halo and Halo 2 had some of the most intelligent enemies in any game.

yay killzone is way better than halo even though:

halo had better graphics than killzone

halo had much better online play over 200000 players online in halo, nearly 500 players in killzone

halo had a score of 10 while killzone had only a score of 6

there's a movie coming for halo and there's no crap coming for killzone

halo has way better gameplay than killzone, u can melee attack, jump, use behicles and none of that is available for killzone

wait i changed my mind, halo owns killzone

halo is the boss, how dare u compare a piece of crap like killzone to halo, halo is and will always own killzone and there is no way that killzone will reach halo's popularity.

Wow dingo

I never knew billy gates had such a huge fan like yourself. By the way, do you play halo while sitting on his lap? or maybe you cant see your sceen too good cause you are blinded by his presence?

Killzone has way better graphics than halo or halo2 and thats called a FACT!
killzone - 1280x1024 yes it is that high
halo and halo2 -480p (640x480 procegressive scan)

Yes the online play is better on Halo2 but overall Killzone is a much better game overall.
The velicles on Halo2 are overated anyways and that takes away from it being a true "FPS".

Yes you can do melee attacks in Killzone (play it again and find out) and the story line in Killzone is alot deeper than Halo or Halo2.

Us vs Aliens????? wow know thats really deep!

By the way scores are a matter of view and so is this post.

I have to agree with jules. Halo was revolutionary so it's very hard to compare it with Killzone. But for argument sake lets do it anyway. I was most impressed by the origional Halo which had awsome gameplay and was pretty well rounded. Killzone turned out to be a real kick ass game more or less taking the good stuff from Halo (gameplay etc.) and putting it into more of a prue FPS and then adding some better graphics and storyline. Afterplaying Halo I was really dissapointed in halo 2 i thought it sucked. The single player campain blew, and it failed to wow me with a couple cheap add ons to the original game. The only thing worth mentioning is the multiplayer and online aspect, which is really much better than the killzone version. But let's face it thats what the developers set out to do, create a better mutiplayer online expirience, this unfortunatly lead to the rest of the game being underdeveloped. So my final verdict is
Halo; a revolutonary title which must be played for the shear enjoyment of somthing new. A close 2nd to #1
Halo 2; This really could have been acomplished by a mod, it wasn't worth comming out with a whole new game. Buy it if you have Xbox live, if not don't waste your tim stick with the original.
Killzone; The best all rounder of the three it has more staying power than Halo, and offers much more than just some cool multiplayer and online options. At the very least it's a game that has to be played and expirienced.
