im a Sony fanboy, but i wont go straight out saying the "PS3 will kick 360 ass!!" cos frankly, thats childish.

but i will only buy the ps3,because it has the games i want to play.
i dont play alot of fps on consoles, and MGS is a must for me.
i've been following it since it's psx days, and the series belongs on the PS brand. Smiler

Sony has me sold on MGS4 alone.

360,while being the first next gen console, doesnt strike me as amazing because looking at the launch games, quite frankly they stink(graphically) comparing DOA4(example) to DOA3,i dont see the difference!both are cartoonish, and look exactly the same..lol...

but just a quick look at MGS4,you know ps3 will deliver the goods(fyi, everytime Mr. Kojima shows a trailer,it CAN be done!)

plus 360's inability to use HD DVD or Blu Ray,and you have a crippled system from the get go.

even the developers of DOA4 had to delete some movies to make way for the gameplay!thats rubbish,if you ask me.

So in a way you're still saying PS3 will kick 360's butt... just in a "mature" way Smiler

Personally due to many reviews in magazines and websites it does appear clear that when the PS3 does come out that the Xbox 360 is still a clear favourite due to many likely faults that may occur on the PS3. Vote 360.

I think it's impossible to do a good side by side comparison of the 360 and ps3. They work so differently. As for whether or not HD-DVD or Blu-Ray will make a huge difference, I think it really depends on the games

The technology itself is great, but it won't sell a console, the software will. I think the pivotal technology will be the online services from Sony and Microsoft. Sony's is very new, Microsoft's more established and they have a better technical group to draw from.

Unless sony's online component is killer...they'll lose out to Microsoft.

The 360 still does it for me. i have never had my current Xbox crash on me or freeze during game play but i have had endless trouble with this on both the Playstation and PS2.

For me, I would have to choose the Xbox 360. The online capabilities it has is simply amazing not to mention incredibly fun! Plus most games so far have been awesome (best reviews on games i've ever seen on a console launch)! Also the price will without a doubt go down in the coming months, which is great too! The PS3 will just be too expensive for me. I think they are predicting between $600 to $700 dollars due to the blu ray technology! No joke!

Xbox 360 gets my vote!

I think the PS3 will be much better, because I think it will be more powerful and have better games even though is costs more.

Well....die-hard Sony fans (we know what kind of games Sony was and will be capable of) will not be deterred by the increased costs. The extra $200 will be worth it.

Anyway, I'm not really here to point out which system is better...I have a 360 as well, and I'm loving it... on the other hand, PS3's price won't stop me from getting it too.

Xbox 360 for me. The PS3 is going to cost something like $400 and even if it is better that the 360 it's not worth that. Plus the exclusive games that are getting released for it like Killzone 2 do look good but that's not really enough to make up for the huge price tag. This may seem petty but i also think the 360 looks better than the PS3, i mean what is with those boomerang shaped controllers?!

They dropped the boomerang controllers, man. The controllers are going to be our very familiar and cherished DualShock. Anyway...to each his own, I guess. I also have the 360 so hey, I agree with everything you say about it being a good system and all... I guess I just can't let go of Sony --- I owned their previous 2 consoles (I still have my PS2, but I sold my PS1) and I've always been impressed at the myriad of excellent games Sony released for the two platforms.

i have an XBOX 360 and as much as in pains me to say it i think microsoft has actually done something right for a change.....that said i do belive that the PS3 does have the power over the Xbox360 and with these 20GB blueray disk thingys its got the storage space (not to mention misrosoft didnt make it hence its not gonna crash on you).

the XBOX has a really kick @$$ achivement system and generaly the online is amazing and defontably would make up for the console not having the memory of the PS3 (after all they dont HAVE to us one disk)

in conclusion i think that its the games thats gonna decide and your personal preference (im one of the biggest Final Fantasy fans on the planet so i got to get final fantasy 13)

Only one more day and PlayStation 3 launches.

There's people camped out outside appliance/electronics stores since yesterday, it's unreal.

I've played a PS3 now, and I'm not impressed enough to drop 600 bones. Blue Ray is not a selling point for me. I'll reconsider when PS3 is $200, or they do something really incredible.

I respect other people's opinion, but really...PS3 is not over a $100 more expensive than the XBOX360. And all these complaints about PS3 launch prices being too high come from people who own the 360 --- the same people who spent at least $600 to buy an XBOX 360 premium bundle, plus a $60 game (I know this because I have an XBOX 360, and the thing actually cost me almost 700 canadian dollars because I also bought the collector's edition of Oblivion with it). So I can't really be convinced otherwise if the argument being pushed forward was a difference of, plus or minus, a 100 bux. You can probably say, well...the Blu-ray is not worth the extra 100 bux... I'll say, sure it is worth it. It might not be selling point now, but who's to say it wouldn't be selling point 2 years down the road? Some years ago if you told someone you had a plasma TV they be lookin at you as if you had a green conehead and googly eyes. I am thinkin that Sony made a good move in investing their efforts into this new innovation that is Blu-Ray.

However, I'll also agree that it's the games that pull people. I've always been an RPG fan, and with RPG's you go with either Nintendo or Sony. Unfortunately I'm just not buying Nintendo even if they sold it for a 100. As for other games, they're pretty much available on every platform, so for example, if you're more into shooters and sports games, it doesn't really matter which console you get, so you might opt for a cheaper system (i.e., the Wii).

I see your point. All i'm saying is that I'd rather $400 for the 360 rather than 600 for the top of the line PS3. Here's why: 360 has almost all the games that PS3 does, PLUS XBOX LIVE...which is a much better service than Sony's online service. I also have to give props to Microsoft's service in the sense that Microsoft is an IT company with LOTS more cash to run XBOX LIVE. Additionally LIVE has been around at least as long as the XBOX giving it time to mature. Sony's new service is new and untested. Additionally, sony hasn't been able to demonstrate what blue ray will add to a game. Blue Ray is simply a disc w/ more storage capacity for more data ( i.e. the stuff required for HD ) You have to believe that if most developers are designing games for all 3 systems, the game will also have to run on a 360 disc atleast as well as a PS3. So, if you can get a PS3 game on 360 ( a system that cost $200 less ) why wouldn't you go that route? I'm not saying PS3 isn't nice...it justn't isn't worth $600. Not by a long shot, not unless Sony adds something else. Maybe they could add a new feature, a new controller that offers a different gameplay experience. Right now it offers an experience that can be had on a cheaper system. As for my games, I NEVER drop $50-70 on a game. That's rediculous...especially when most games eventually sell for 19.99 even the best ones Smiler
