What do you mean it's "cut"?? Is it missing chapters? Are individual films edited??? If they're not, I'd buy it. I'd prefer a Halloween box set, though. Michael Myers is a much more elegant killer.

It's been awhile since I've seen any of the series, which I used to like when I was about 13. The A.V. Club feature has me thinking I might revisit some of them. At least the first 4 or 5. After that, it seems like the general consensus is that they started getting really bad.
----- I don't dig the Stripes, but I'll go for Har Mar.

I liked the original "Friday the 13th". Probably the only one I liked. I saw the first few sequels and parts of others, but none of them made me want to watch the films all the way through.

It's all that moralising. If you take drugs, have sex etc - the axe murderer will get you. As a result, I found the films too predictable and pedestrian.
If you watch something like Alien, the characters die in an inconventional manner, so you expect the unexpected - it makes the experience a little more unnerving.
By contrast, you can predict Friday the 13th all the way up to the mask being ripped off.

I have actually watched all the friday 13th movies. I do not think I would buy the box set. I think that maybe they ned to come up with a friday 13th movie starting from the beginning like rob zombie did with halloween for the younger generation.
