Thought I'd start a thread for Dark Water (starring strong female lead Jennifer Connolly Smiler ). Have other people seen the previews for this movie? It looks like a quality scary movie...a combination that I like!

I did like it. I've never seen the original japenese version, but, this one was good. In the tradition of "The Ring". Is it just me or is Japan obsessed with dead children?

"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

I'm surprised that this thread had so few responses. As I recall, this was one of the best horror movies 2005. Along with The Descent, and having enjoyed Constantine starring Keanu Reeves, Dark Water appeared to be the most dazzling and technically superior film. A lot of the credit goes to the set designer as well as the photographer who created an entire urban landscape that contributed mightedly to the overall horror impact of the movie. This was an intelligent, visceral movie that ate at my emotional core, steeped in raw tension and anticipation.
