Kraft, I would recommend Open Water, simply from the standpoint that it will make you feel emotions that you don't usually feel, especially not in a theater. It's strange the way it plays out..............................................kinda like that. Then all of a sudden !!!!! I'm just not sure how else to describe it without giving something away. Go see it. It is worth it.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back.

I watched it last night and quite enjoyed it, definately a film I would recommend. It actually invoked some feelings of "real fear", not the kind of music induced, cat jumps at the screen bullshit that passes for frights in horror films these days. This is not a horror film, it is an independent film based upon true events. It isn't perfect, but it is unique and incomparable! Check it out!

The beginning is a little slow, but never boring. It isn't really an "Action" movie it is more of a film based upon the emotions of the characters. There are no special effects, which is a good thing, there are no gross-out scares, which is even better, the only thing that makes this movie an actual movie is the plot and the actors, it is excellent in its simplicity.

( I don't know if this has been mentioned or my sly remark already made) however, here goes: The only thing with any depth in this movie, is the ocean its filmed on.

But that is what I like about the movie. It doesn't need to give the characters a backstory or any motives other than the desire to survive. In most cases, lack of depth is a bad thing, but in this one, it is a very acceptable way to present the movie.

Right, living off the primal fear, I understand. It really is an instinctive movie, a lot of fun to watch alone just for the impulses it gives you.

Of course on a very superficial level, this movie is about primal fear.

But it is about much more than that.

It is about isolation.

It is about the space between us.

It is about coping with mortality.

It is about finding out where we are on the food chain.

It is about how much it takes to bring a relationship back together again once it starts "drifting apart".

You will never take your partnerships for granted again after seeing this movie.

A truly gut wrenching experience.

I will never watch this movie again.

Excellent film making!!!!!
