I was reading a current edition of Newsweek and found a little blurb about the "going-to-be-awful" film Exorcist: The Beginning. Since, its like 4 sentences long I dont think Im violating any rules. Anyways this is the production hell that accompanies this movie--- I found it to be interesting------
Director John Frankenheimer was hired, then died.
Paul Schrader hired. His footage deemed "not scary."
Schrader's film shelved. Renny Harlin redirects entire film.
Warner Bros. hopes to release both versions on DVD.
"Exorcist" author Blatty sees Schrader's version. Loves it.
Heh, well there is hope that this flick MIGHT be OK. I mean, Exorcist III, was kinda cool. Right?
I liked Exorcist 3 a lot, which was directed by Blatty, so hopefully an endorsement from him is a good sign. I hope the movie is interesting and tries to be psychologically frightening as opposed to visually scary.
